It's a great show. I could've sworn it had more than 17 episodes! Certainly felt like it when I was taping them all on VHS for my dad...

I thought the same thing. But each episode had 2 separate stories. But still seems like there were more. Although there's only so many ways you can tell the exact.same.story. lol

apparently, according to a comment on the amazon sale page, they've combined 34 episodes (where 1 race was featured) into 17 episodes featuring 2 races each. it's intro, race 1, race 2 immediately begins with no bridge, outro.

How wacky are these races? My doctor advised I keep my wackyness to maybe a 3 or 4 max on a 1-5 scale.

Seeing that this aired in the 60's drives me crazy. I would have sworn this was just another re-adapted 80's cartoon, using those older characters.

Perhaps you are remembering Laff-A-Lympics, which is from the 80's and fairly similar to Wacky Races. (Muttley/Mumbley laugh)
