Softsoap Milk and Honey is a large refill with a sweet, pleasantly scented lather that feels more like a perfume than a floral soap. The $1 coupon brings the price to $3.70, and the non antibacterial formula is a plus for septic systems and for anyone avoiding antibacterial ingredients. The scent is strong, though, and the antibacterial version is also on sale if that is preferred. A solid refill if you want a sweet smelling everyday soap and do not need antibacterial.

Common Questions (4)

  • No, this Milk & Honey refill is non-antibacterial. That makes it a fit for shoppers who want regular hand soap rather than an antibacterial formula; an antibacterial Softsoap version called Crisp Clean is also available.

  • The scent is reported as very strong and perfumey, though some describe it as pleasantly sweet and not overly floral. If you prefer a lighter fragrance, this may be too noticeable.

    MtF4392OkishMomBeautifulGiraffe193

  • A $1 coupon applied for at least one shopper, bringing the final price to $3.70. The pre-coupon price was listed at $5.97.

    AlT5693SDU23

  • No. The antibacterial Softsoap formula discussed here uses benzalkonium chloride, not triclosan, and antibacterial hand soaps are described as no more effective than regular soap for routine use.

Doesn't answer your question directly, but antibacterial outside of specific needs like hospitals and around people that are immune compromised is generally regarded as bad because it may or does (ain't an expert either) lead the rise of antibacterial resistant bacteria is is bad for humans. Normal soap makes thing slippery and so dirt, grim, bacteria, and other unwanted stuff gets mostly washed away when you rinse. It doesn't -kill- the bacteria, and then your immune system takes care of the rest. Again not an expert, don't quote me.
Not an expert but out here spreading BS, regardless. Okaaay.. lol

I bought this the last time it was posted and regret it. The scent is very strong and perfumey.
I've bought this soap before at Walmart when it was on sale and I can confirm it has a very strong perfume smell to it. It's not bad but you can definitely smell it.

I like the smell of this, but prefer the warm vanilla and coconut milk scent. Currently $5.97 before $1 coupon.

I agree. The scent is hard to describe, but it's pleasantly sweet without the overpowering floral smell that some soaps have.

This comes up on every Softsoap post and as usual there is so much bad information on this thread. Softsoap antibacterial cleansers don't contain triclosan. The active antibacterial ingredient in Softsoap is Benzalkonium Chloride, which has antibacterial properties but are not generally considered classic antibiotics like your Macrolides/Tetracyclines/Fluoroquinolones/etc. They can also be found in things like eyedrops, nasal sprays, cleaning products, etc. For factual information look up studies on PubMed. The studies basically showed that antibacterial hand soaps weren't any more effective than regular hand soaps and that if used regularly that it could alter your normal bacterial biome on your skin. So basically it's overkill but if used occasionally it should be fine.

You don't have to be an expert to explain how soap works. You're the one spreading BS

Was I replying to you, white knight??! How am I spreading BS? LOL Because I called them out of it. I use anti-bacterial soaps and I've been fine.
