I am a container snob. I have like 100 of different ones and sizes. Greenmade is the best aka the Costco ones. They use a glass reinforced plastic for the botton piece which makes them.much more rigid. If you don't know what tote you have put it on a scale, the Greenmades are 1/2 pound heavier. Also, you're buying an ecosystem. Many of these totes only stack with an identically branded tote.

Only buy Greenmade.

1 pack is always $7.99 at Walmart. This is not a deal.

You can't imagine the mark up on plastic containers... These should be around the lower $5...

Community Reviews

These 27 gallon Sterilite bins are valued as sturdy, stackable storage for moving, garage use, and general organization. They are easy to carry and store, and the size has strong resale demand after a move. The main caveat is that the lids feel a bit flimsy, so heavy loads should not be stacked too high. The price also draws some pushback, especially versus cheaper 27 gallon totes elsewhere and Costco sales that come around regularly.

  • These storage bins can be easy to carry during moving and simple to store afterward.

    jrhawk42

  • The lids and bottoms reportedly hold up better than some Walmart and Lowe's totes.

    cloose

  • These bins can work well for garage storage because they feel steady, strong, and stackable.

    FawnsFindings

  • These bins can be helpful for planning a move when buying multiple units at once.

    SiXiam

  • The lids can feel a bit flimsy, so stacking heavy contents may be a problem.

    SkillfulCrib8401

  • Stacking compatibility may be limited to identically branded totes, which can restrict mixed storage setups.

    ScarletDirt565

  • The price may not feel very good for some shoppers.

    dDOUBLEd

  • Clear versions can cost much more than the standard bins, which can reduce value.

I see they are $95 for 8 - is this a commodity thing where you should expect to pay that price or do they ever go on sale?
Costco puts them on sale regularly.

When I used to move a lot these things were amazing. Easy to carry, easy to store.
And easy to resell too if you don't need them afterwards. Drop them on Facebook for $6 a pop and watch people flock in to buy them.

Check Facebook Marketplace... People are always dumping these for next to nothing.
Yep especially when they just moved. I've seen huge stacks of them go for only $4-5 a piece. Only used once for the move and that's it.
