Have you not been following the news? There's a mass memory and storage crisis lol. Of course prices changed for computers.
Oh no, how would we ever survive the crisis??? Perhaps by, you know, not buying random chinese crapboxes like this?

(Not saying this is what's happening here, but most/all FP deals on SD nowadays are posted by the actual sellers disguised as "random users").

I would NOT trust ACEMAGICIAN brand as my last one die the warranty expires. ACEMAGICIAN is willing to send me a replacement, but I need to ship my dead unit first.
Given the fact there are some much personal data on it, not worth the risk....YMMV!!!

Like I mentioned above, it's not the same model/product that he referred to. But yes, your point still stands.
Would this be enough to run Plex?

Considering a 24gb stick of ddr5 easily goes for over $200, this seems to be a decent deal

Just FYI, that is from 2024. The matter was justified and dealt with years ago; and has been explained several times over here on SD as well. I'd advis staying updated.

A little box like this with the DDR5 will make a nice little local LLM box if you're looking to play around with your own private AI. If the memory is expandable (I didn't look) this is even better.
The memory is not expandable, so that makes it not quite what you want for this use-case.

How can you ever "justify" something like that? You can't. It's intentional.

Because I check and verify things before commenting.
The products have the same name/model "Kron K1" but just different specs hence why it's being shown in that list. It's common here that's why it's better to click on it and check.
Saying this was cheaper without any verification negatively affects the deal and misguides the members here.
Actually his post is accurate, it states "The deal history on this post..." which is what it shows. What misguides people is the tool being wrong. Your angst is misplaced.

This has been addressed and clarified a hundred times now over the past few years.
Acemagic: "Our software developers, in an effort to enhance user experience by reducing initial boot time, made adjustments to the Microsoft source code, including network settings, without obtaining software digital signatures, and the RGB lighting control software was also without one. This oversight led to isolated reports of virus-infected mini PCs manufactured before November 18, 2023."
They were lax in their digital signature network security a couple of years ago when trying to make their slow devices faster. That resulted in viruses able to get onto systems. There was no hardware or software "malware" installed, the digital security software has long since been strengthened, and there have been no repeats of the problem.
The issue was that they wrote this off as a network configuration and custom rgb issue but never addressed the fact that inspecting firewall traffic resulted in seeing an insanely high volume of data going back to ace magic subsidiaries. Unless their rgb fix was cloud dependent (its not) there's no reason for that volume of data to be phoning back home like that. People hyped up the false virus reports. You could just extract the drivers and then reinstall Windows, if you're concerned.
It would be better to stick to facts in the present tense, with the present device, such as information on whether it lives up to its stated specs and prices.

LPDDR (Low Power DDR) memory is generally not removable because it is soldered directly onto the motherboard.
