Irish Spring Original Clean is a classic strong scented bar soap that works well as a long lasting everyday staple, especially if you already like the scent and lather. The 24 pack stretches a long time, and the per bar price can beat smaller packs when compared directly. The main caveat is value, since Costco, Sam's Club, Target, and Walmart have been cited with lower prices or larger bars, and the current coupon appears to be gone. The scent is also very pungent for some, and the bars may go faster than expected.
Common Questions (5)
The 24-pack is around $12.58, which is cheaper per bar than Walmart's 12-pack at about $7.97-$8 and Target's 12-pack at about $7.99. Sam's Club can be better if you have membership or Subscribe & Save, with a 20-pack around $10.98-$11.05, so the Amazon deal is strongest when you want the larger pack without Sam's.
Yes, these are 3.7 oz bars, and that matters because Costco and some other stores sell larger bars around 4 oz to 4.5 oz. For a fair comparison, price per ounce is more useful than price per bar.
The $2 off coupon is dead, and some Subscribe & Save totals are coming out to about $12.58 before tax instead of the lower advertised price. That makes the deal less attractive than the thread's initial price suggests.
Yes, the scent is described as very strong and pungent, with one shopper calling it offensive. If you dislike heavily scented soap, this is a key drawback.
Yes, 24 bars can last a long time for one person, but the bars may also wear down faster than expected. One report says they "melt" rather fast with daily use, so longevity depends on how often you shower and how you store the bars.
