Underrated game. Slow at times but the highs are VERY high. Story and voice acting are very good.

Agreed. I think calling this a Final Fantasy game hurt it though, long time fans are put off by the gameplay and hack 'n slash fans wouldn't usually touch a Final Fantasy game.

I agree. Tbh, the incredibly slow times are the eikon battles. They take sooo long to do and you're just doing the same action or 2 on repeat, get a small cs, rinse and repeat many times. Honestly the only downfall of the game imo. I realistically never bothered playing it forever because of the incredibly tedious and boring eikon fight in the demo.

Incredible music and storyline.
However fight could get repetitive at time. Unlike regular RPG Final Fantasy game, the fight doesn't really have differences when using different element. You just figure out a combo that works for you, repeat until the end of the game. Like the regular magic is just a element range attack and doesn't matter what element the opponent is. It make the game easier since you don't get all different element but still it kinda get boring after a while of the fight.
Still 10/10 will Plat the game again.

I always defend this game when it's posted from the FF purist hate brigade. The story, visuals, and voice acting are incredible. The esper battles are peak gameplay. However, due to the game's size and grand world building, the environments sometime feel sparse because of limited assets. Additionally, the character equipment upgrades, particularly accessories, feel lacking.

Despite its runtime being a bit long for itself, it's an amazing game, and I hope Square continues to explore this direction.

Not critically underrated, I should clarify. It's very divisive among fans of the series, especially turn based or MMORPG purists of all the games before (except 15). It's personally in my top 5 though.

I haven't played a final fantasy to completion since XII. I will give this a shot. I don't care about the combat. I want excellent music, graphics and story. Seems like this checks all that off.

I loved the demo of this game, but it's way more adult than the previous FF games. I know there're plugins for nudity, but not language. Waiting for someone to make a language filter 😁

This game looks like it would be fun, and when I'm in the mood for a Hack and Slash it'll probably be up on the list. But if I want a Mainilne Final Fantasy RPG, it just doesn't fit. Played through the demo and was horribly dissapointed. Felt more like Final Fantasy Origins, and it would have been a Great game in That lineage. ;P
