I bought a fully automatic (superautomatic) Philips espresso machine similar to this 4 years ago. My wife and I agree that it was the best purchase we ever made. Well worth the money. We use it daily and it has never failed us. Clean it weekly and you will get the best coffee you ever tasted.

Our model has more options. For example, an Americano selection combines an espresso shot with hot water rather than putting a whole cup of hot water through the puck of coffee. I find this to be a smoother cup of coffee. If you can afford it, i would recommend getting a more capable Philips model. But this one should be perfect if you only want espresso and drip coffee.

Philips bought Saeco/Gaggia in 2009. These are top espresso machine companies. And the Philips fully automatic machines are still made by Saeco. I highly recommend them.

Cleaning: Rinse the "brew group" to clean any grounds off it. Wipe down the surface the coffee touches with paper towels to remove oils. Then run a paper towel through the ground coffee to clear out any grounds and oils left from the week. The total time is about 5 minutes of cleaning. Once a month, I run Philips coffee cleaner through the machine to ensure all the oils are removed. Bottom line, take care of your machine and it will take care of you.
