This is a very compact low profile RTX 5060 built for small form factor cases, and its main appeal is fitting where full size cards cannot. The newer generation, warranty, and DLSS features add value, and the card is described as the strongest low profile option available for gaming. The big drawback is the 8GB memory, which feels tight for modern use, and the deal math is only $20 off, not 20 percent. It makes the most sense when size matters more than raw value.

  • The low-profile form factor makes the card practical for small form factor builds that need a compact GPU.

    SeanFranksteven99

  • The 5060 LP can support gaming performance improvements compared with the Intel Arc B50 alternative.

    veyveysteven99

  • Some LLM workloads can run on CPU even when GPU VRAM is limited, which can reduce pressure on VRAM capacity.

    ThriftyThread5737TrevynA

  • The card's newer feature set can matter for modern workflows that use DLSS and AV1 encoding.

    booboloo

  • The 8GB VRAM configuration can be insufficient for modern needs that call for 12GB to 16GB.

    jrb531steven99

  • The deal value can be weaker than it looks because the discount is $20 off rather than 20% off.

    ghostfreckleratero90

  • Low-profile GPU options remain limited, so buyers may face tradeoffs between RAM capacity and GPU performance.

    steven99steven99

  • Using small-VRAM GPUs for LLMs can increase wait times because workloads may spill into system RAM.

dang you got me but for gaming the 5060 is 70 percent faster so that card really isn't comparable
I don't know if its officially supported, but looks relatively easy to add XESS Multi-Frame Generation to the drivers of this card.
That should boost performance a bunch, plus XESS is superior to DLSS.

8gb is not enough these days. You need 12 or 16. You also want the 5060 "TI" version of this so look for a 5060TI with 16GB.
There is a huge difference between the 5060 and 5060 TI
They don't make a low profile card of a 5060TI with 12gb or 16gb ram. The people buying these cards are buying for their cases which can only fit a low profile card.

Not worth it for only 8gb. It's like buying an i3 back in the day. Sometimes cheap didn't save you any money.

It's a red flag when a current gen GPU is getting sold off on Woot. This is only a good choice if you have a small form factor case, and you need a small GPU to fit into it.

is this enough to run llm locally?
Actually you can run a LLM off CPU with pretty good results as long as you have a 1/2 way decent CPU. I keep hearing I need this or that and I bought the graphics cards to run AI but I often want to run larger models and just run off CPU and it works just fine! You would be surprised at what you can run CPU only!

I understand fully. You have to take what you can get.

I've read that even if you are using a small VRAM GPU, many LLMs are capable of switching to system ram for the rest of the prompt but at the cost of 2-3x longer waits

Not really. They sell plenty of current gen Nvidia and AMD cards on woot.

It's $20 Off, NOT 20% Off.
OP is incorrect and deal is wrong.
It's two deals.
Woot has this marked from $429 to $339 (20% off) and has another promotion wherein you take another $20 off (code TWENTYOFFPC) bringing it to $319.

yea it is slower for sure but if you have a decent pc it is fast enough to be useable as in it isn't miserably painful. Of course time is money for a business so worth it to spend the money on a uber system but for home lab if it takes 3 seconds or 10 seconds to get an answer back it isn't that big of a deal and worth it to me to save the $10K Stick Out Tongue

Price is good if you need it. Could flip it for a profit in a few years. when GPUS get expensive.
