The Panasonic Z8 Series stands out as a bright OLED with natural, cinematic picture processing, strong motion handling, and unusually capable built in audio for a TV. The 77 inch set is also described as heavy and robust, with Fire TV integration that works well with the TV settings and quick, low lag performance. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR10, and the built in sound bar can be paired with a subwoofer. The main hesitation is room fit, since brighter rooms favor the LG C5 or Samsung S90F, while the Z8 seems best in more light controlled spaces.

  • The built-in sound bar can provide TV audio that feels comparable to a higher-end external option.

  • The Panasonic Z8 picture processing can deliver a natural, cinematic look out of the box.

  • The Fire TV experience can integrate with the TV settings to improve 4K viewing workflows.

  • The Z8 can reduce stutter compared with expectations, with Panasonic processing not causing issues for motion.

  • The Z8 can be very heavy, which can make delivery and unboxing more difficult.

  • Some comparisons suggest Samsung S90F may be better for gaming and motion priorities.

  • Expectations of Panasonic build quality may be misplaced because manufacturing is outsourced to TCL and Skyworth.

  • The built-in sound bar equivalence claim may be hard to believe without hearing it directly.

I end up getting the S90F and the picture quality is stunning. Panel has basically as close to perfect uniformity and the viewing angles are perfect, unfortunately I find the motion even without interpolation lacking and sadly that is a deal breaker for me unless all OLED look like this. I have the Panasonic on the way to do a comparison for 24 hours but I'm already preparing myself to be disappointed with the downgrade in color volume, brightness. viewing angles and panel uniformity.
Only other option is the a95l but that's almost 3x the cost and I'm not even sure the motion is really better than the s90f as they are both QD OLED.
This sucks.
Report back with your thoughts on the S90F vs Panasonic after you get it setup if you dont mind. Thanks

It's very silly to buy this over an LG OLED.
Why? Panasonic sources it's OLED tv panels from LG display. Panasonic just adds their own tuning on top of that.

If the Amazon software sucks that bad, the I'll just get an apple tv 4k. I'll give it a shot though
How do you use your streaming app that would disqualify the FireTV vs. AppleTV?

Curious cause I have both and I find myself going directly to my favorite bookmarked streaming app & dont get triggered by all the other fluff with either.

What about in terms of motion processing? Do you feel the image moving is better easier in the eyes on the Panasonic? I have the S90F 77" and can't seem to get used to the motion even with interpolation off.
From my own subjective view, the Panasonic also has less stutter to me.

I also checked Rtings to confirm, and their results line up with what I felt, Panasonic consistently got a higher score on Stutter Reduction with Interpolation and Judder. Panasonics processing is great, and hasn't been an issue for me.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you are asking. I have no experience with firetv, and it may not be a big deal, time will tell. For me it's about user interface and lag. If either are bad, I will want to use an alternative.

Mine arrived today. When I ordered, it had a 5/13 delivery date. I was quite surprised when I got the phone call while at work that they were 10 minutes out from my house. Luckily I can open my garage door otherwise they were just going to leave it outside since no signature was required.

When did you order? I placed an order yesterday with a delivery date if 5/20. Just curious of how quickly it may arrive.

That's the thing there is not much difference. .
They are all cluttered mess.

One thing as an owner of this TV and having never been a FTV user before it's been a good experience esp for integration with the TV settings which is how you maximize most 4K's viewing experiences.

So just plugging a streamer to a HDMI will only provide you streaming portal. Which all of them can do in the same way (book marks & advertising their eco system's content).

Just got the TV setup over the weekend. So far, I like it. Still tuning the picture and sound to my liking, but over it's been good. It's heavy as all hell lol, but we got it there. Fire TV is "ok" the only reason I'm sticking with it is that the TV is quick with almost no lag, which is huge for me. Just a learning curve at this point

Have fun. The FTV integration with the TV's settings is indispensable.
FTV is getting a GoogleTV like update any time now.

Hi, how did the S90F compare to the Panasonic?
