I believe this is verbiage from Nintendo when it used to be $250 and Newegg has not updated their description. The codes they send will adhere to Nintendo's current policy on balances.

I have the same question. Only on the terms and conditions do I read this but nowhere else in the internet does it say the same thing. If we were to validate this, I assume we would call Nintendo and not Newegg? Thoughts?
