This onn 70 inch Roku TV is a budget big screen that stands out for built in Roku and a huge 4K display, with some owners still using the same 2021 model successfully. It also gets called out as a decent porch or outdoor TV, and the model number matches earlier Walmart stock from 2020. The main drawbacks are HDMI quirks on Xbox Series X, reports of dead backlights, and criticism of the picture quality versus older sets. It feels like a low cost large screen with real tradeoffs.

Common Questions (4)

  • Some units have lasted well since a 2021 purchase, but others have failed with a dead backlight and were made in 2020. The model number 100012588 matches December 2021 purchases, so build year and unit condition appear to vary by batch and usage.

  • No. It uses Roku software built into the TV, not Google TV, so if you want Google TV specifically this model will not fit that use case.

  • A Roku hard reset can clear HDMI problems: press Home 5 times, Up once, Rewind 2 times, then Fast Forward 2 times. The TV also has separate HDMI ports, and trying HDMI 1 instead of HDMI 2 may help if one port is acting up.

  • It can have HDMI handshake problems with an Xbox Series X, including losing picture until the console is hard reset after the TV turns on. That makes it a risky choice if you want a trouble-free gaming setup.

It's a great TV, but the HDMI always has problems showing picture on the Xbox Series X and I have to hard reset the console every time I turn it on which drives me absolutely crazy.

Gas is on it's way to $7 a gallon but a 70" TV is less than $300. What a world.

Hard resetting my Roku worked for my HDMI issue. On remote press the Home button five times, then Up, Rewind twice, and Fast Forward twice

Gas generates revenue for the seller only at the point of sale. These TVs are ad machines. They are like a free TracFone.

Just swap the TV out when she's not home- maybe she won't notice.
... my wife just came home from a trip today and is not thrilled to see the 98" TV I just bought. One of those things I'm going to beg forgiveness instead of permission.

This is the problem... my ten year old TV, while only a 55", it offers better picture then this TV.

I have the LeEco Super4 X-55. I did spend $350 on this TV in the day from Walmart.

Look, you don't need a shitty TV... your WIFE is right... she is ALWAYS right.

You need to wait until you have about $100k saved up in the bank... and only then you can beg. And if you think I am being harsh... my wife temper is BAD!!! And I need to save up 1 million, so you have it easy.

P.S. And I still don't have a new big TV and I saved like I am suppose to Frown, life is sometimes not fair.

The Roku is built into the TV. I don't have a "Roku". The software is built into. I'm thinking I need to try HDMI 1 port instead of the 2nd port because I think the first port might be 2.1 but I have the TV mounted and don't feel like taking it off the wall to swap the cable.

I own this very tv and wouldn't recommend it. I should have bought the extended warranty, because the backlight is dead. Also, this tv was made in 2020. I bought mine in 2021.

I thought the way you reset it was hit up, up, down, down, rewind, forward, rewind, forward, home.
