The Monolith M12 v2 is a huge, heavy subwoofer that delivers serious bass and looks like a standout value for the output. Setup reports describe clean, punchy low end, strong performance in surround systems, and enough headroom to get loud once calibrated correctly. The main catch is power, since this EU and UK version is 220 to 240 volt and needs a transformer, dedicated 240 volt wiring, or a hardware conversion to run on US power. It is a bargain if you can handle the electrical side and the size.

  • The subwoofer can work on 220-240V at 50-60Hz, which simplifies power compatibility when using the correct voltage supply.

  • The Monolith M12 v2 can deliver strong bass output for its size class, and it is described as a "beast."

  • The high density fiber board is reported to support clean punch and rumble performance after AVR and gain adjustments.

  • A step-up transformer setup is reported to run silently and produce loud output after AVR recalibration.

  • US buyers may need a transformer or a 240V wiring solution because the circuit board is described as designed for 220V only.

  • Some 240V receptacles may reject the plug, and the subwoofer is also described as having no ground connection.

  • Delivery can require extra effort because the shipment is reported as very heavy and may cost extra to lower from the truck.

  • The deal may be time-sensitive because stock and pricing appear uncertain, including reports of the price changing and the item showing no stock afterward.

Awesome. Which converter did you use.
No converter, just wired a 240v outlet and plugged it in.

Fedex called and asked if I had a way to get it off the truck. They said its 136lbs with a skid? It costs extra to lower it?

If they could give me a time, I could have my brother help me lift it off, but since its just a generic 9-6, I will probably be by myself.

How is everyone else dealing with this?
I ordered 2, so they were both strapped to one skid. They were delivered via liftgate truck, so the driver dropped it down for me and even helped me move it into my garage.

Which receptable (and possibly adapters) did you use, and where did you get it (them) from?

Except monoprice days not to use a converter and it will damage it... sheesh... reading comprehension had gone down a lot here...
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

now look at all these people who got great deals because they listened to me and not you.

Things work great out of the box just with a transformer.

It was clearly price mistaked for shipping being free. These things cost a fortune to ship VIA FREIGHT. Look at freight charges.

Congrats on everyone who decided to jump in and get this and not listen to the guy above and a big haha to those who thumbs down me earlier and gave this guy a thumbs up woot

This is likely to be the subwoofer deal not just of this year but will stand for a good while

Do you really think Monoprice is paying $281(including the pallet) to ship these things? If so, I feel bad that I am only paying MP $19, and Fedex Freight is getting $281.

I wonder why they are shipping freight? It looks like you can ship up to 150lbs on UPS and FedEx before going to freight.

I used the power cord which I posted earlier in this thread.

This is a much cleaner solution than a transformer adapter, but it requires you have the ability to run 240V to your intended location. In my use case, this is a subwoofer for my outbuilding where I have already wired for 240V, so all it took was a new cord.

For those who don't know what they are doing electrically, you CANNOT simply plug this into a standard 120V household receptacle. Also: None of the 3 power cords provided in the box will work with any readily available 240V plug/receptacle. This is why I recommended a new cord similar to the one I provided a link to. You can also make your own power cord by purchasing just a standard NEMA 240V plug and cutting off the end of one of the monoprice plugs provided.

People who have a dedicated receptacle already wired in their media room could rewire that outlet for 240 by simply replacing the receptacle and swapping to a properly rated 240V breaker in the panelboard.

Thanks, missed your original link, and didn't realize the output was simply a C13 style. I will be running a 240v dedicated line to a new receptacle and using the cord you linked to.

Mine works great with a step up transformer (3000w), had to configure my avr from scratch and turn the gain up on the sub to really get the response I wanted. The m12 is harder to drive than my last sub. But man is the base crazy good. The high density fiber board is great

I received mine today. The guy put it in the garage. No extra charges for a fork lift.

I wonder why they sent it freight? Regular Fedex can deliver packages that are less than 150lbs. They had to send a giant truck here to deliver it.

Let me know whats the consensus on the transformer to buy.

This is the converter that I bought. It works great and is silent. I bought two M12's and have them both plugged to the one converter and it doesn't even break a sweat. After recalibrating my AVR and adjusting settings, these things get LOUD. For $700 all in for two M12's and the power converter, this is for sure one of the best subwoofer deals Ive seen and taken advantage of.
