LG's 83 inch C5 stands out as a big OLED for dark rooms and gaming, with deep contrast, tiny details popping in low light, and all four HDMI ports supporting HDMI 2.1. The price is described as near an all time low, especially versus the 83 inch G5, and the thread link appears to unlock ordering even when the store search shows out of stock or a higher price. Brightness can still be a concern in daytime light, and LG checkout or registration can be finicky with zip code, ID.me, or browser issues. A strong value if the room and setup fit OLED strengths.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is strongest in darker rooms and can look washed out when daytime light comes in. For mostly evening viewing, it can be a great fit; if you need a brighter set for a sunlit room, a G-series may be the better upgrade.

  • Yes. The 83" C5 can show as out of stock or at a higher price when searched directly, while the thread link may still open the lower-priced product page and allow checkout. Zip code and account eligibility can affect what you see.

  • Common access paths include a Hulu account, a Firefox Relay alias email, Beneplace, or an ID.me military/veteran login. An edu address also worked, and ID.me may trigger login or checkout errors that can be bypassed with Chrome incognito.

  • Yes, all four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1. That makes the C5 especially attractive for gaming setups that need multiple high-bandwidth inputs.

  • It has reportedly been flipped on eBay for about $700-$800, which after shipping and fees works out to roughly $600. That suggests there is some resale demand, though net proceeds are lower after costs.

How is return policy and experience with LG , when n if you run into issues . One can buy asurion plan, but 14 day to report problem seems bad , esp if you run into bad luck with tv . Costco 2300 price hasn't returned

It comes to $2,650 with the S95ar soundbar. How much can you get if you flip it?
I've flipped it for $700-800 thru ebay which after shipping and fees, prob amounts to 600ish.

Depends ..( viewing distance, brightness... )

I've had the 77 C2 since 2023 and it's been amazing! But, I recently bought a house and well.. I need a brighter set! So, my next purchase will be a G-series.

I sit roughly 9 ft away. Brightness varies, during the day a good bit of light comes in washing out the brightness, however like 75-80% of my watching is in the evening.

It seems like they're alternating sales on these. The G5 was 2100 last week, now the C5 is on sale this week. It's between the 83 C5 and 77 G5 for me. Trying to decide has been tough. The extra screen size seems nice but the extra brightness of the G5 is nice also. Tougher decision than I thought it would be TBH.

Honestly, I'd recommend the G5. There isn't a significant size difference between 77 and 83", unlike going from a 65 - 77"
Check out these two links for distance and size differences.

I stand by my recommendation, especially since it's a G5 vs C5. The G series also comes with a 5 year panel warranty from LG while the C series do not.

Thank you, I'm actually coming from a 65, so I appreciate the info.

I'm sure their is an engineering/yield reason behind the 77 to 83 sizes but yeah, it's hard to want to upgrade to an 83 when you already have a 77. When going upsizes you want to be wowed. Haha

I have 70 inches normal 4K TV, eyeing OLED upgrade. Deciding between this 83 and the 77 inch. Though it's not a deciding factor, no wall mounting and mount with 83 inch

The 83" G5 was this price?

Now I am wondering if I should wait just before world cup starts to see if they have amazing deals then. I am still waiting for a refund from LG FOR 3 MONTHS NOW
