LG's 83 inch C5 stands out as a big OLED for dark rooms and gaming, with deep contrast, tiny details popping in low light, and all four HDMI ports supporting HDMI 2.1. The price is described as near an all time low, especially versus the 83 inch G5, and the thread link appears to unlock ordering even when the store search shows out of stock or a higher price. Brightness can still be a concern in daytime light, and LG checkout or registration can be finicky with zip code, ID.me, or browser issues. A strong value if the room and setup fit OLED strengths.
Common Questions (5)
It is strongest in darker rooms and can look washed out when daytime light comes in. For mostly evening viewing, it can be a great fit; if you need a brighter set for a sunlit room, a G-series may be the better upgrade.
Yes. The 83" C5 can show as out of stock or at a higher price when searched directly, while the thread link may still open the lower-priced product page and allow checkout. Zip code and account eligibility can affect what you see.
Common access paths include a Hulu account, a Firefox Relay alias email, Beneplace, or an ID.me military/veteran login. An edu address also worked, and ID.me may trigger login or checkout errors that can be bypassed with Chrome incognito.
Yes, all four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1. That makes the C5 especially attractive for gaming setups that need multiple high-bandwidth inputs.
It has reportedly been flipped on eBay for about $700-$800, which after shipping and fees works out to roughly $600. That suggests there is some resale demand, though net proceeds are lower after costs.

The 83" G5 was this price?
Now I am wondering if I should wait just before world cup starts to see if they have amazing deals then. I am still waiting for a refund from LG FOR 3 MONTHS NOW
- you can get access through a hulu account
- sign up for firefox relay service (the free tier) and the alias email generated for you will be eligible to register with the partner store
- sign up for beneplace.com eg at bpnet.savings.beneplace.com
I haven't confirmed that those work; I got access through an edu address that I still had.Though it did give me a weird login issue after connecting/registering and credit card checkout error.
I have to use an incognito tab in Chrome to finally get around the login/payment issue
