From my understanding, is there a a decent step up. I don't have these myself, but I have the Sundara 2020 and the Arya V3 stealth and IIRC the path is Sundara, Ananda, then Arya and the Arya is fantastic.
EDIT: Point being, if you have the Sundara already, I'm told that it's not a HUGE upgrade to go to the Ananda and it's worth going to the Arya instead.

Thanks, I should buy these, not sure if I will. I have a pair of Hifiman headphones but I can't remember the model, they just say edition XS on the band.

So the Edition XS is the model (don't you just love their naming structure? lol). Again, big IIRC, the XS technically a smidge below the Ananda, but it's negligible. The comparison ends up being: Do you like this headband or that? The Ananda, Arya and Sundara have the suspension strap style, which I prefer, but looks a little crazy in comparison. I'd argue they are more comfortable and no sane person is taking open-backs in public anyway so looks don't really matter.

Ah, yes, reading that I remember picking the XS because they were very close to the Ananda. I think I'll wait and see if the Arya go on sale like these other two. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply, thank you!!

Xs and ananda are basically equals just different stock tuning as long as you use a capra strap on the xs headband. Xs has flatter bass that extends properly into sub frequencies whereas the ananda has less sub bass and a bit more spice in the treble.
