The Eskute V100 comes across as a fast-accelerating, moped-style e-bike with a low seat, 16 inch wheels, dual suspension, and a 48 volt setup that can reach 28 mph unlocked from the factory. Fit and finish are described as solid, and the rear suspension helps with seat fatigue. The main drawbacks are practical: the headlight is too weak for seeing the road, the low ride height can cause pedal scraping, and the bike can feel wobbly above about 20 mph. Pedaling also looks awkward for taller riders, and local road and trail legality may be an issue in some states. A compact, punchy option if the fit and rules work for your area.

  • The rear suspension can help reduce seat fatigue during rides.

  • The 48V battery and 16-inch tire setup can deliver fast acceleration compared with higher-voltage 52V+ models.

  • The bike can reach 28 mph full electric without pedaling when ridden by a 190 lb rider.

  • The bike can have good build quality and strong fit-and-finish for a Chinese-manufactured electric bike.

  • The advertised hill-climb and torque specifications may be overstated because controller and battery limits can restrict real wheel power.

  • The headlight can be too dim to clearly see the road at night.

  • The 16-inch wheels and narrower handlebar setup can feel wobbly above about 20 mph on rough asphalt.

  • The low ride height can cause pedal scraping during turns when a pedal is in its lower position.

I don't understand why this is being downvoted. This is a Brand+ sale so it is Eskute directly who is shipping this product. We bought one of these V100s a few weeks ago for my youngest daughter it has a super low seat height and with the 16" tire size and the 48 volt battery and motor setup it is one of the fastest accelerating electric bikes I've rode so far that are not one of the 52+ volt models. It's pretty well equipped, it's got a built-in horn as well as a rear suspension which is hit and miss with some of these moped style electric bikes. My biggest complaints are: the headlight isn't very bright at night from the front vehicles can see you totally fine however it does not project enough light to see the road clearly, with the 16-in wheels and skinnier handle bars than your standard 20" electric bike going over 20 mph can get a little wobbly and almost to the point of doing tank slappers on rough asphalt, the bike ride height is so low that if a pedal is in its lower position and you're making a turn it will scrape on the ground, also if you're a bit on the taller side If you scoot your butt to the very back of the seat you are right over the top of the rear tire and so you can easily wheely this bike and it'll shoot out from under you. No bike is perfect, but this one actually is a really good setup just that it does have some design cons

Oh another thing I just remembered as a follow up. This bike is unlocked from the factory so it tops out at 28mph full electric with my 190 lbs a** riding it. No need to pedal to reach that speed. It's not limited to Class 2 (20 mph) from the factory. And I bought ours through AliExpress. Pros: build quality is good one of the better ones in fit and finish of the Chinese manufacturers(CYCROWN being the best quality I've owned so far and we have 5 electric bikes), fast acceleration is nice, rear suspension helps with seat fatigue, other than that it's just a good all around bike.

Its good this thing has power because at 70lbs and with a fixed seat, you can't pedal this heap. Seriously, have you ever got on a bicycle and NOT have to adjust the seat? Of course not. So you won't be able to pedal this for love or money.

Oh, and be aware, its pretty much illegal to use in public in CA and NJ, and if you ever hit top speed in NYC they can take it and destroy it as an unlicensed moped. So for the 1 in 8 'mericans this applies to, well, you were warned.

I think the only place that this might be legal to use on public roads is Kentucky and it would be banned on practically any trail systems not made for motorcycles. Check your local regulations before buying.

Only "illegal" in NJ if you don't register or insure it.

I'm 6'3" and 270. I care less about range as much as I do the "get up and go" aspect of one of these. Will this bike handle me pretty good?

That and it's illegal to sell this bike over the internet to New Jersey.

About that registration, does this include a VIN and certificate of origin? Because that's a requirement for registration.

https://www.nj.gov/mvc/vehicletop...pedatv.htm

Insurance adds a hundred bucks a year. Probably. We'll see how the market shakes out once they start having claims roll in.

And there's the part about needing a license, so absolutely no one under 15 can ride this. Be sure to mount your license plate and keep your driver's license, insurance card and registration with you while biking so you don't rack up motor vehicle fines.

Aren't we all so happy that e-motorcycles masqueraded as ebikes and gave us such wonderful knee-jerk laws?

No one tells people that on flat land it requires minimal power to get to speeds under 30mph, where wind resistance is minimal. So on flat land and with the right gearing, a cordless drill has enough torque to (eventually) get you up to 30mph. Anything will work in Kansas if it has the gearing. Hills are a different matter.

So how much do you trust the specs? It claims it can climb a 35-degree hill and that it has 85Nm of torque. Compare to a 55hp, 450cc Yamaha YZ450F which only cranks out 45Nm. 85Nm is a lot and 35-degrees is a pretty steep hill.

Can a 1500W electric motor* turn out 85Nm? Sure, you can get 200Nm e-motocross bikes that has motors that use less than 3,000W.

it comes down to how big are your hills and how much you trust the listing to tell the truth.

*Side note, wattage is a trash measurement. It shouldn't be, but these are "input" wattage, not "output" wattage. Its like rewarding an inefficient system. Imagine buying a car based on the size of the fuel pump. "Yep, this baby can consume 10-gallons/minute!"

There is NO photo that has the rider sitting on the seat, you must have to stand on the pedals to ride it.

You can have a 1500 watt peak rated motor, but the controller is what ACTUALLY puts the power out. That's how all of these chinese bikes get advertised. If you want to know what the actual power that can go to your wheels, see how many Amp controller it has, and multiply by fully charged battery voltage.

For a 48v system fully charged is 54.6v. Therefore a 27.5 Amp controller gives you 1500watts...27.5x54.6=1501.5 (although most just use 27 Amp and round up)
Yes it's input watts, but it's the actual measurement of power...versus the theoretical 'rating' of what the motor CAN do IF given the power. It doesn't mean the bikes controller puts out the motors 'rated' power.
And a cheap or low end battery can limit the input power to the controller, meaning the real power to the wheels can even be less.

Nerp, the motor puts out the wattage that matters.

You are talking about the electric wattage input to the motor.

I am talking about the mechanical wattage output of the motor. In cars they use horsepower, which is a direct equivalent of wattage (750W=1hp).

A cheap DC motor can have 50% efficiency. A middling DC motor can have 70% efficiency. A high efficiency DC motor can get above 95% conversion. Its the difference between the theoretical power of gasoline vs the mechanical output of an internal combustion engine.

So for the same 1500W controller, three different 1500W peak input power DC motors could produce at the driveshaft 750W, 1050W or 1472W of motive power.

This is like buying a car based on the fuel pump.

Do we do that? No! Performance junkies reference the power at the wheels off a dynomometer or the engine "brake" horsepower (bhp).

You called it. Its not a simple question, it's a simple-minded question.

There is no universal answer.

Do you expect to sit down on this e-moto with a non-adjustable seat and dinky 16" wheels and comfortably use the pedals? Almost certainly not.

Do you, at 6'3", expect to sit on this emoto with 16" wheels comfortably and let the motor do all the work? Maybe. Its notable there are no pictures of a person sitting on the bike, they are always standing on the pedals. How happy are you if your knees are above your hips?

Do you expect you can treat this like a scooter, standing on the pedals most of the time? Probably....but 6'3" may mean the handlebars won't get high enough and you'd need to replace the stem.

Can the motor move you if you live in the mountains, probably not.

Can the motor move you if you live in Kansas, sure.

Can the motor move you if you live somewhere in between? Maybe...depends on how big the hills are where you plan to ride and how much you trust the manufacturer's specs on a $500 ebike.
