I have this with the smaller keypad and no issues other than the lock eats batteries. Ended up getting some rechargable ones from Amazon.

I got rid of that crap. It's loud and unpredictable. Got an Eufy and couldn't be happier.

IMO, the locks without built-in wi-fi are better. The external wi-fi bridge is more reliable and they use AA batteries.

Are there alternatives to the August, where you only need to mount it on the inside? I have those kind of long lock where the keyhole and thumb pressed openers are one piece on the outside so pretty much not compatible with any other smart locks.

I went with this one cause you only change what's on the inside and my apartment managers were fine with that and also cause it doesn't change the key itself.
