I have the little channel lock and this thing is trash. It won't lock and slips under the slightest pressure.
Seriously, I have a better grip with my fingers.

Mine might be defective, but it makes me doubt their larger channel lock.

This set has serviced me well but the carrying bag is trash. Tools easily slip out over time.

Agree. And the tools are too heavy that it gets a bit floppy when hanging it.

It sounds like yours are defective. I have the 8" and 10" groovelocks (not from this specific package, but the cheaper one: B000FK1R0W, bought about 8 years ago), and have not had any slipping issues. Maybe they cheapened the construction, I do see they changed the grip since I got mine.
The 8" (GV8) are my most used pliers and the first ones I reach for. The jaws are softer than Knipex, I damaged mine within the first two years, but they still work fine overall. If you're earning money with these tools, then Knipex is the gold standard. If you're just using these on the weekend for minor handyman and automotive work around the house, these are good enough.
