My browser shows:
"Online Price $4.40" with a link "See In-Store Clearance Price" to in-store price of $1.60…So I think this is in-store only?

I saw this in-store and almost bought it given the markdown price.

But as I reached for it, HD had the more typical white teflon PTFE tape in a pack of *5* for $2.36 (47 cents a roll?) right next to it on the shelf. Same dimensions of 1/2" x 260". I have used the white Teflon PTFE tape before and it's fine. Worst case, wrap the threads with another layer if you still experience a leak.

I haven't used the Oatey Fastape product so I am not commenting on the product itself, but the difference in price is huge. 5 rolls of the generic tape will last a really long time.

Several years ago I was replacing my natural gas dryer and it's supply line, so I had to buy the Teflon tape specifically made for gas lines. It is much thicker than standard tape and easier to handle. I also like having one tape that can work with everything, and standard tape like the one you linked is only for water lines. I will definitely be going to HD and get the posted tape. It's quality versus quantity, and most homeowner's who buy five rolls will die with two of them unused.

Man makes a good point. I just took a peek into my plumbing supply drawer and found 6 rolls of various Teflon tape and 4 tubes of Teflon sealant. This doesn't include the things stashed in my detached workshop - lol.
