I don't have your issue, but look up the "spoon pouring trick" which is basically the same as the chemist technique of using a glass rod to pour between two beakers.
Anchor Hocking's 2 cup glass measuring cup is a sturdy, heavier alternative to plastic or Pyrex, with long term durability and a size that works well for everyday measuring, tea, coffee, protein shakes, and even home brewing. The cup is praised for being well made, and the markings are easy to read for common kitchen conversions. The main cautions are pouring and calibration, since the lip can send liquid down the outside and some markings have been reported as off or inconsistent. It is a solid basic measuring cup if you check the graduations before relying on it.
Home brewers needing a sturdy 2-cup glass measure, because it feels thick and heavy and works fine for everyday pouring and mixing.
The pour lip can cause liquid to run down the outside instead of into the bowl, and the tip is not very pointy for a slow, clean pour. A spoon or chopstick can help guide the stream more cleanly.
It can work as a replacement, but Pyrex has sharper, more durable markings. Anchor Hocking cups are thicker and heavier, and the markings may be easier to scratch off or vary between cups, so it is worth comparing it against a known-good measuring cup.
It is reported to hold up well over years of use, with owners keeping one for a decade or more. The cup is described as thick and heavy, which helps it feel sturdy in daily kitchen use.
Ill be that guy for this thread, what's the difference between this and a Temu one (assuming the measurement markings are correct). I mean fun fact that well known brands dont even have accurate measurements either.
Glass is glass (for the most part, not talking about crystal wine glasses), right? Borosilicate vs Soda Lime is also a thing but not something that actually matters imo. I bit into the whole PYREX > pyrex thing at the start but I've just concluded that its overblown.
For what it's worth I own a Pyrex 2 cup measuring cup I bought on Amazon in 2007, I use it daily as I also use it for tea, coffee, and protein shakes. It's built like a tank, I've dropped it a bunch and there are no cracks or chips. The writing on the cup is the same as when I bought it. I'm not sure Temu ones will have the same longevity.
I don't know if this a good deal or not but I did want to say f*** these things. Why put a lip on them when 90% of the time the damn liquid flows down the cup, making you miss the bowl? I just don't get how it is this one thing in my kitchen that makes the most mess, the plastic one I have never does it.

I always on the lookout for PYREX and pyrex at thrift stores, their markings are hard to etch out or won't fade, all others (Anchor Hocking, etc) I "tested" at different stores can easily be scratched off using a metal, PYREX almost impossible and pyrex can be scratched off but requires significantly more effort
8oz in a cup, 16oz in a pint, 36oz in a quart, all easy numbers to remember and the math even easier. And the teaspoon tablespoon measurements. Oh so accurate
The only thing true and accurate about imperial measurements is the imperialism.
