This is a budget electric dirt bike that feels more like a small electric motorcycle, with strong torque, adjustable speed modes, and a tunable VOTOL EM85 controller. Build reports point to solid fun and decent suspension, with enough room for larger riders and a frame serial number for registration. The main drawbacks are rough quality control, loose or damaged hardware, loud operation, mushy or missing front brake setup, and a top speed that may be lower than advertised. It also raises serious legality concerns in many places, so it is best suited to off road use where local rules allow it.
The controller is a VOTOL EM-85 unit that can be tuned, and community-made tuning apps can be more user-friendly than the official process.
The bike can move a 6'3" 250 lb rider without issue, which supports real-world power for heavier use.
The bike includes a frame serial number that can support registration in at least some situations.
The brakes can perform well for riding stunts, including stoppies, wheelies, and small jumps during testing.
Shipping availability can be restricted, including reports that it cannot ship to Idaho and cannot ship to New York.
Legality and required equipment can vary by state, with reports that some jurisdictions treat these as motorcycles requiring licensing, registration, and insurance.
Free shipping may fail at checkout for some locations, with shipping charges reported as nearly $700 instead.
Assembly can require mechanical fixes, including stripped controller mounting screw threads and bent foot peg mounts.

You: "DO NOT BUY KITCHEN KNIFE, unless you are a certified Chef in a restaurant"
Key point: Do not get discouraged from buying wonderful products because of an accident.
People are going to be people.
E-bikes are easily one of the best things to become massively available.
No need to wait at stop lights, no gas. I bet you can get to the same place at the same time as a car (within 5 to 10 miles) or even faster in heavy traffic areas with an e-bike. They are wonderful
And I'm all for Darwinism... but imagine being the adult that accidently runs over a kid on an e-bike because they kid is riding on the freeway? And yes, Kids are riding their Surrons on the 5 Freeway.
I built it and test rode, and can report it's indeed the Tuttio we all love to hate. The understeering, upright handle bars, mushy brakes, and smile inducing torque are all there - for a price only a Chinese cloner could do 😆
Next step will be to get my 12 year old riding the wrong way on one way streets. Just kidding, it will be getting a green OHV sticker to do what's it's made for: off-roading.

This isn't a complaint about e-bikes, but a class of e-bikes that is specifically being targeted by law enforcement in our community (and likely many others)

I put it through the ringer on my wooded property. Nothing but smiles, the steering wasn't great, coming from real bikes but nothing terrible, the grips are garbage. Brakes were great did some stoppies, wheelies and small jumps, tires were fatter, and more aggressive than I expected!
My 9 year old has out grown his tiny razor bike years ago. The Pegasus is the perfect height for him. He follows rules and my parenting, mode 1 for him till he increases his abilities.
All in all great bike (so far), and stoked to not have more crap with gas to maintain.
Anyone have recommendations for headlight, (wired, or battery) and grips?
1) the screws that mount the controller were damaged in transit. the controller was pushed back. 1 screw's thread were stripped, replaced that screw, no issue. The other screw next to it stripped the hole itself. I had plenty of metric bolts, but could not find a workable replacement. ended up using a standard size with different threads to force it in.
2) the left foot peg mount was a bit bent, the peg would not fit properly in to the mount. had to yank on it hard with some pliers, but ultimately was straight enough. mounting the pegs with the spring was tricky. the instructions explained nothing there. Youtubed Tuttio foot peg install and that was pretty easy to follow
3) the front break pad. the 2 pads were completely closed together. you have to manually wedge something to open it up to install the front tire. this was a beast to do. first used a putty knife to wedge in between to push it open. Then got it big enough to shove their plastic tool to expand it. (when opening the included items, there's a black weird wedge tool.) After expanding it, the inner brake pad still rubbed on to the disc, added some extra washers i had to space it a mm.
overall pretty happy with the purchase. Most consider a tuttio a cheap chinese clone, and the pegasus is a clone of the tuttio, so basically a clone of a clone. But for 500, hard to complain.
If you're not very mechanical, or have never been around ebikes, this would've been a nightmare for you. I readily have metric bolts on hand, and plenty of ebike tools at my disposal. Returning a box that was completely destroyed before it made it to my door would also be a mess.
