You dont NEED to use any of it, but its there, and its pretty reliable.
And lets face it, paying $70ish dollars for a 'Brushless' fan is a pretty great deal all on its own - these things run for years and years and they are super quiet.
Community Reviews
DREO's TurboPoly pedestal fan stands out as a quiet, brushless DC fan with strong airflow, useful oscillation control, and a remote that covers most needs without opening the app. The smart features add scheduling, temperature based control, and app steering, while the non smart version is still appealing for anyone who just wants a traditional fan. At max speed it gets louder, the warranty is only one year, and the shortest timer setting is one hour. Overall, it reads as a capable bedroom fan with more control than a basic pedestal model.
Smart-home users who like hands-free fan control, because the app and voice commands can adjust speed, oscillation, and scheduling.
Bedroom sleepers who want a quiet fan, because it stays smooth and quiet at low speeds while still moving enough air.
Shoppers who want a brushless fan that feels efficient for the price, because it uses low power at lower speeds and still feels like a strong value.
People who want a pedestal fan that reaches the bed better than a tower fan, because the airflow can reach farther instead of stopping at the mattress or frame.
Buyers who want very wide horizontal sweep control, because the smallest swing angle is 30 degrees.
People who want a fan with a long warranty, because this model is covered for only one year.
Sleepers who need a sub-hour shutoff timer, because the minimum timer setting is one hour.

got my unit. wow. level 2 is all i need at most, in my bedroom. its a quiet fan, smooth... just like OG panasonics.
The remote can control the range of horizontal oscillation in four steps, minimum is 30 degrees, max I think is 180, plus the usual controls for fan speed and timer, so I probably won't be installing the app. The remote can do everything I can think of for now. The only thing I'd like to change for now is if had a 30 minute timer setting for when I use it putting me to sleep, minimum now is one hour, additional time is in one hour steps.
The bottom of the round body (10.6" wide) of the fan is about 31 inches off the floor at max height adjustment, just enough clearance for where I need it.
