Did some research on these. A few people don't like the satin body finish which seems to be why they were discounted. Others have been "meh" about the pickups. But this seems like a very decent price for an American Strat if those don't bother you.

Per google: Fender began transitioning from "Made in U.S.A." to "Made in Corona, California" on headstocks around 2016–2017

If you search YouTube for this model there's a video from Anderton's showing each finish color and what the actual wood is. I don't think any were Alder so that's probably an error.

I believe that's just a generic description and it shows what each one is made of in the details (each 3 are different - for example, one is made of sassafras). These could be interesting, but IDK about the pickups and the matte finish.
