But the Gl.inet Beryl 7 is a better product from the same generation if you need a travel router. And if you don't need latest gen, the Beryl AX is good enough.
Can't any old router be used as a "travel" router? I have a deco mesh pack with an unused unit. Why would I want this over that?
Technically, yes. This has the advantage of being small, supports tethering cellular from your phone (not exclusive but rare for regular), USB-C powered where you can just plug it in pretty much anything. I don't know how the deco mesh pack is, so I'm not really comparing it to yours specifically. Maybe yours already does all this and you don't need it.
I have an ASUS version of this TP-link and it's great for what it is. Works as a wifi range extender when not being used as a travel router too.
