The Xbox series X launched for $499 in November 2020. With our runaway inflation, $499 in November 2020 adjusted to March 2026 dollars is $633.

While might argue that 6 year old tech should have dropped more, it's still the latest generation and we continue in times of unprecedented technology prices.

Cherry picking the deep discounts that were seen for a few days in November and a few days in December 2023 as holding those up as typical prices is disingenuous. Most of those deals were only available for a few hours/days with a limited stock at certain retailers.

Wait on next gen? Sure. That's ALWAYS true. As soon as it's announced the kids will start looking at what comes next. It's just the way it works.

If you can afford it and will use it, this is a mildly slick deal. Don't expect anything to get better anytime soon.

It's a crazy market, and is likely going to stay that way.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. Like 2 years after it's launch (as sales didn't meet demands) it was going for around $350 during the holiday. I just got the series S for $150 and was considering selling it to get that. Looking back I wish I did as it probably could sell more now for used.

So... how good of a chance is there, if I buy the deal; and after I receive everything, I go to my local store and try to exchange the physical Forza for a digital code? The physical is just for the Xbox, but the digital would let me play on my gaming PC too. I wonder if the exchange would break the bundle price or something.
