Reolink's wired WiFi doorbell stands out for fast live view, solid smart home integration, and local recording without a subscription. The feed opens quickly after alerts, streams well on a tablet or TV, and works with Blue Iris, Frigate, Home Assistant, Synology Surveillance Station, and Alexa Show. Installation is straightforward with existing doorbell wiring or a jumper wire for mechanical chimes. The main tradeoffs are the included plug in chime instead of the existing home chime, occasional lag on replays, and weaker night performance or limited vertical coverage for packages near the floor.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can still detect motion/person and record to an SD card without internet, and some setups can view it on the local LAN through the Reolink app, RTSP, Blue Iris, Frigate, Synology Surveillance Station, Home Assistant, or Scrypted. Mobile alerts and live view from outside the network require internet.

  • The wired WiFi and PoE versions do not work with an existing home chime; they use the included plug-in chime instead. The battery version is the one reported to work with the existing chime.

  • Yes, the WiFi version can use existing doorbell wiring or USB power, so you do not need to run Ethernet. The PoE version does require Cat6/Ethernet, but it is preferred by some for reliability if cabling is easy to run.

  • Yes, RTSP and ONVIF are supported, but they must be enabled in the Reolink app under Device Info, Advanced Network Settings, Server Settings. That makes it usable with Blue Iris and Frigate on a local network.

  • Yes, the feed is reported to open very quickly after a notification, with near-instant live view on a good Wi‑Fi connection. It is described as much faster than Ring and older Eufy doorbells, which can take a long time to load.

This doorbell checks off all the right boxes but a big one that isnt checked is not being able to use existing chime.

Especially those who have a nice home. Using the external plugged in chime it comes with just seems ghetto and janky. And at the level of those who own a home where little details start to be crucial, this big omission will eat at you. Such a shame.
The built in chimes are all ugly. I actually remove them.

I currently have the Ring Pro 2. When someone rings the doorbell, my Alexa Show will automatically show who is at the door. Does the PoE version have this feature or do I have to voice command Alexa to show the Front Doorbell or so?

$60 is more of a normal price for this but I have 2 they work amazing! Bad at night but I have other cams for that. 3d print brackets for extra tilt if required, lots of reolink templates on printables!

My expectation is that I can stream the video/audio feed to any device on my local network without the need for the camera to communicate to Reolinks servers. Anecdotally, I tried setting this up personally and couldn't get it to work. YMMV
It works fine without internet. RTSP streams go to frigate no probs. Reolink app connects without them having internet access as well on the same lan. They do everything I could ask for but they aren't built to last sadly.

I have 6 Reolink POE cameras and this wi-fi one. I just could not get a cable to the doorbell but it was convenient to keep it powered up with the existing chime and it works great. The only problem I have had is that it has lost connection with the plug-in chime so I almost missed a pizza delivery guy once. Not sure why, maybe a power outage situation, but it was inconvenient and all I had to do was unplug/replug the chime to get it to work. I test it from time to time but I shouldn't have to.

This was my best purchase in 2023. If your wifi is good enough, it is really stable and you can answer right away when someone there outside (much faster than Ring)

If you use the Reolink App, yes you can setup a Alexa Show to automatically show the door when the bell is rung. You can also use the Show as the doorbell ringer (chime) (and can choose what the ring tone is - so for example on Halloween you can have a spooky chime).

I have this camera integrated with Frigate and Home Assistant. If someone gets close to the door, I get an alert. I can pull up the clip of the person, or get a live view. If they push the button, I get a chime.

Reolink has done a lot of work on developing a decent HA integration, so if you are interested in smart home stuff, this is a great free doorbell camera.

Has anyone tried using a mechanical/digital chime with a jumper? Is it not similar to using other doorbell cameras, why is this version not at all compatible with built-in chimes?

I have two of these. It is FAST with pulling up the feed, so once someone rings the doorbell and I tap the notification it loads quick and no problems. My old Eufy doorbells would take forever, even with fast WiFi.One other perk is they stream like old school wired cameras. I sometimes leave the feed up on a tablet or TV. Can't do that with Eufy. All in all, very happy. Eufy's other camera products are still great but Reolink makes a superior doorbell. The chime is even included which was extra on the replacement Eufy I tried before finally switching to these Reolink doorbells.
What app do you use to watch it on tv?

Anyone own this ?
Yes, great doorbell camera with no subscription. I have it on WiFI, if you could connect it to Ethernet or do POE I would because the replays can get laggy.
