This compact Weber chimney starter is best for smaller grills, quick cooks, and low temperature charcoal setups. It fits the Weber Go Anywhere for storage, works well on a Smokey Joe, and can be used on a 22 inch kettle when you do not need a full load. The starter is praised for making charcoal grilling easier, avoiding lighter fluid smell, and holding up well over years of use. The main limitation is size, since it holds about half a full chimney and may feel too small for standard kettles or longer cooks.
Charcoal grillers using a Smokey Joe, because it holds about half a chimney and works well for low-temperature cooks.
Backyard cooks who want to avoid lighter-fluid smell, because it lights as fast or faster without chemical odor.
People starting quick burgers or hot dogs, because the compact size is easy to dump and then build on with extra coals.
Charcoal smokers using the minion method, because the smaller starter is useful for that setup.
Owners of standard 22-inch kettles needing a full load, because this compact starter is about half the size needed and can be too small.
People expecting a full-size chimney for larger cooks, because the compact version may require two units and feels smaller than expected.
Grillers who want a chimney that stays lit with restricted airflow, because it needs open air on the main grate or the coals can go out.

Also, those cheap arc lighters work great to light these things up on a windy day.
