Humble Choice May 2026 is strongest for Diablo IV, Shin Megami Tensei V, Nordhold, and Heroes of Hammerwatch II, with the bundle price landing far below buying those games separately. Diablo IV is the base game only and comes through Battle.net, not a Steam key, but the low price still makes it appealing for players who do not mind another launcher or already use Battle.net. Nordhold and Heroes of Hammerwatch II get especially good word for tower defense and co op play. The main knocks are the non Steam redemption, the 100 gigabyte reinstall, and the feeling that Crysis 3 Remastered is the only Crysis game here.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can work, but not as smoothly as a native Steam key. Battle.net and other third-party launchers require extra setup on Steam Deck or Linux, which some users avoid; others say the one-time install is worth it for the discount.

  • No. Diablo IV is redeemed through Battle.net, not as a Steam key, so it stays tied to Blizzard's launcher and account system. It can still be a good value at $15, but it is not a native Steam redemption.

  • Yes, if you want Diablo IV base game at the lowest bundle price and do not mind Battle.net. The bundle price is $14.99, and commenters note that Diablo IV alone has sold around $20-$30 on sale, though endgame play may be better with the expansion.

  • No. The bundle includes Diablo IV base game only, and Vessel of Hatred is not included; the newer Lord of Hatred expansion is separate. That means the bundle is cheapest if you want the base game now and are fine buying expansions later.

  • No. If your membership is active, claiming this month's games can trigger an immediate $15 renewal payment. Humble Choice billing also runs on the last Tuesday of the month, and you can skip or cancel by then to avoid being charged.

That mentality is why so many different launchers had "exclusives" for so long. People tolerated it. That is why games like Fractured But Whole on Steam don't have Family Sharing yet, due to the garbage launcher nobody wants even for single player games. And that is why the companies took huge losses and series were shut down, because people were tolerating it and finally stopped. You think you are advocating for something good or cool, but that is the reason for many gaming issues.
I'm not so much advocating as tolerating, as you said. It's the way things have always been. Having come from WC2, SC, D2, and WC3, all of which used Battle.net as their online matchmaking system, then to WoW and SC2 which debuted Battle.net as a more central launcher and marketplace, it's what I'm used to.

I get where you're coming from. Hell, I still haven't played SC2 because "our" copy is registered to my brother's Battle.net account. I don't think it's good or cool. But I do think that a company has the right to limit the platforms or launchers their games release on, just as companies can choose console exclusivity, even if it's bad for their own IP or the industry as a whole.

It's also worth mentioning that while Steam is great for us as gamers, there's a reason developers and publishers take Epic's exclusivity offers or build their own storefronts/launchers. While we turn our noses up at anything not on Steam, their 30% cut is huge, especially when you're trying to recoup the budget you've put into a game. Epic is 12%, with 0% for the first 6 months if you release exclusively. If you release on your own platform, you've got to pay the costs for it, but it's 0% cut lost to the storefront. You can argue that Steam gives you visibility, but does it really? Nearly 100 games get released every day on Steam, so if you don't already have external visibility, you get buried in slop. Even getting a daily, weekend, or midweek deal to bring you to the front page can backfire, as Steam is frequently running events that push those down out of the initial scroll window, if not hide them completely.

tl;dr and back to the point: The D4 key being for Battle.net doesn't bother me. If it bothers you, that's fine, and you can exercise your right to choose not to support it.

I can only game on my Steam Deck. I know I could install Battle.net on the Deck, but I've run into problems with doing this with the EA App and Ubi-whatever-thing that I just don't want to deal with it.

Taking into account that adding up all the historical low price points for each game in the bundle:

Value = $94.80
Bundle Price = $14.99
That's an 84% savings.

For those lamenting that Diablo IV isn't a steam key. Well, it's available on Steam for $29.99. Historically a Steam key for it has gone as low as $22.49

If you want to play the game on Steam so badly, for a variety of legit reasons, then spend the +$22.

If you want the game for a lower price than it's ever been before, along with 7 other games (Including SMT 5 whose historical low is also above the total price of the bundle), then suck it up buttercup and just get the bundle. That's just the cost of getting such a huge discount.

Steam has always been far beyond all others. Cloud saves have existed for years, storage isn't free, neither is bandwidth, but its free for all Steam users, even during a time like now where Storage prices have went 3-4x price.

Steam has a free forum for discussions, yeah sure Ubi and EA has one too - nobody uses it. You Google an issue for a game, you are seeing steam discussions pop p, not EA or Ubisoft. That also comes at a cost of Valve.

Steam also has the mod workshop, again something that is free for everyone to use, and something that basically no other game company does.

Steam also now has Amazing family sharing capabilities. I can share my whole game library with up to 5-6 family or friends, with the small exception of games like some PvP and then the garbage Ubi slop single player games they haven't removed their launcher from.

I know you're saying you don't mind the choice, and I don't mind the choice either, I simply don't support them off Steam. But it is a huge misconception that Valve just "takes more money from developers", meanwhile you walk around with a iPhone, Samsung, Pixel, or whatever Android devices as though you aren't paying extra for the same exact hardware, but with a different UI. Valve does a whole lot more for gamers than any other gaming company, and higher quality does come at higher costs. Xbox and Sony charge people for cloud saves and online Multiplayer for most games, it has never existed on PC and it will never exist on PC thanks to Valve. If Valve have decided to require a subscription, you can bet Ubi, EA, Blizz would have done it too, Valve has always eaten the server costs ever since its existence and the explosion in PC gaming is due to Steam (Valve)

Wasn't b.net around way before valve? You are acting like valve invented this type of platform when blizzard was doing it a decade before them if not more. I played d1 on dial up internet in 1996 on b.net. They are the ones who started the free play forum model not valve. In 1996 guess what... my Diablo 1 character was cloud saved so valve didn't invent that either. I like steam as much as the next guy I have over 500 games on it but if I were in blizzards shoes I wouldn't want to pay them 30% when I already had a platform that could do everything valve does. You say valve had done so much for gamers but you don't think blizzard paved that path first? And 30% is a huge ask but I get it seems to be the standard.

You are very confused. I know its not a competition, but you must be a very basic PC gamer to say such things. There is a difference between "cloud saves" and "account data saved on a server". The main difference is, "cloud saves" are your local save files that are synced to the cloud when the game is exited, and if something bad were to happen to your PC, you wouldn't lose the save file. Diablo 1 especially, didn't have this. Diablo 2, didn't have this either funnily, sooo I am not sure if you are very misinformed or just trying to make up lies.

As for the launcher, Blizzard also never had a launcher back then, again I am not sure if you are funnily very misinformed, or just lying. You downloaded each individual game, you put the CD key in each time to install the game, and you launched the game with the discs in the driver (or use a no-cd crack) and then logged in with your email and password each time. At what point have you never had to done any of that, that made you want to comment here and say "Blizzard had a launcher too" because they didn't for D1 or D2, 20+ years ago. If you ever played a newer blizzard game, that actually uses the blizzard launcher, you would realize the difference right away, you load the game and it just "works". Like Diablo 3 for example.

Go ahead and search about it, think about it a little, and you will see how very confused or misinformed you are. Maybe you are very young or something, I played Diablo 2, LoD, D3, Starcraft 1, Starcraft 2. I know when the "battle . net" launcher stuff happened. It was manyyyy years after Steam. Its actually humourous how wrong you are, while trying to uptalk Blizzard for things that Steam did 10+ years prior. Again, its not a competition, I don't get money from Valve or Blizzard, but facts are facts. This is why in my initial comment I said, Idk why people are so misinformed about Steam and the 30% fee when they started "everything" on PC, and still do "everything" better, hence why the very large majority only buy games usable on Steam

Nordhold is dope. I think I paid $13 just for that one on sale. I'm a fan of tower defense games though.
You just rekindled my interest in this bundle. I love tower defense

Yes. You can subscribe, pay the $15 dollars for the game keys, and then cancel your membership. They might even offer you some deal to keep you on. I'm on month 4 of a cancellation deal of 6 months at $12.50.

i still remember when we got Crash, Spyro and CoD in the same choice on Steam. legendary bundle.
I joined right after a bundle like that that. There were several good ones in a row so I figured it was the norm. Once I joined the bundled mostly sucked for several years. Would have been cheaper to buy the games I actually wanted from it on sale.

Never heard of the Steam Deck?
I would prefer it on Steam too 100%, but you only have to install 3rd party launchers on Steam Deck once. It isn't near as straight forward or fluid as if the game were through Steam, but it's worth my time to get D4 so cheap. Just my two cents.

Nordhold and Heroes of Hammerwatch II were on my wishlist too, so this is an incredible month for Humble Choice.
