To be fair, I feel like Blizzard games belong on Battle.net? Having grown up with them, it feels weird that they're on Steam at all now.

Also, worth noting that this is just the base game for Diablo IV. Vessel of Hatred is no longer purchasable, but is included with Lord of Hatred, the new expansion that just released. Price of this bundle ($15) + Lord of Hatred ($40) = $55, still less than the price of the "Age of Hatred Collection" ($70) that includes both on BNet or Steam.

Not a deal breaker for me but it would have been to have a steam key to make it easier to run on steam deck.

I'd be perfectly happy with Blizzard's back catalog becoming available on Steam, given that b.net's Linux support is nonexistent, and I don't care for fiddling around with Lutris or Heroic Launcher when I can avoid it.

Humble Choice May 2026 is strongest for Diablo IV, Shin Megami Tensei V, Nordhold, and Heroes of Hammerwatch II, with the bundle price landing far below buying those games separately. Diablo IV is the base game only and comes through Battle.net, not a Steam key, but the low price still makes it appealing for players who do not mind another launcher or already use Battle.net. Nordhold and Heroes of Hammerwatch II get especially good word for tower defense and co op play. The main knocks are the non Steam redemption, the 100 gigabyte reinstall, and the feeling that Crysis 3 Remastered is the only Crysis game here.

  • The bundle can be worthwhile when Diablo IV is redeemed on Battle.net and you already own Battle.net access.

    EightChickensBlueRaccoon1085

  • Nordhold can add strong tower defense value to the bundle for fans of that genre.

    PeterL7956Zaq2

  • Steam Deck users may find the bundle acceptable even without Steam keys, since non-Steam launchers only require one-time setup.

    slipperyfoxThriftyStag5104

  • SMT V alone can justify buying the bundle for players who want a demon-catching style experience.

    DarianJ9131

  • Diablo IV is reportedly provided as a Battle.net redemption without Steam keys, which can limit Steam-only expectations.

    airazor2000EvilCheetahBlueRaccoon1085

  • Crysis 3 Remastered may disappoint buyers expecting a broader Crysis trilogy bundle.

    maheeinfyFrank_Nitty

  • Humble Choice claiming can require an immediate $15 renewal payment even when membership is already active.

    AvalancheX

  • Humble Choice can trigger an "All keys exhausted" error and support may be unhelpful when that happens.

I never understood the obsession with having everything on steam until the steam deck came along. I know you can sideload other game stores but it's hacky and the games aren't optimized. I don't own a steam deck now but the possibility could be in the horizon depending on whenever the steam deck 2 comes out.
Outside of that, this concern with having to download a 500 MB app is no big deal at all to me.

FWIW what you bought likely included the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which this does not appear to.
Depending on what deal they found that is very likely the price of the base game. I saw it a couple times for $20 but that's rare.
This bundle is a no brainer for me, just waiting til the end of the month to see if there is a coupon. There wasn't for the last bundle I wanted (Persona 5 royal) but who knows.

You may have already got it and played it but it's a good time, especially at this price. You may find it hard to find people who want to do end game stuff without getting the expansion, if you do there's a discord that helps people find teams, you just gotta farm for the materials.

Yeah, sounds like that was the case. I was hopeful for them, when I moved from battlenet to Steam before LoH it was $70 for everything including the expansion, so $30 for base and VoH seemed reasonable. It didn't even seem like you could buy just the base game, but again this was Steam so very possibly apples and oranges with BNet pricing.

People complaining about using different launchers -- why don't you use something like Playnite? One stop to access all your games without having to open each launcher to run specific games..

Adding a 3rd program, log in, etc is hardly a perfect solution (it is more a crutch to an existing problem) not to mention many people are using Linux or a Steam Deck.

FWIW, if I didn't play primarily on my Steam Deck, I wouldn't care as much but since 99% of my game time is via the Deck, (like 3-4 million other SD owners) it does matter functionally to a lot of people beyond just clicking a different icon.
