This Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro IV is drawing attention as a strong sub 300 dollar Les Paul with factory setup potential and a finish that looks better in person than in photos. The guitar is being praised for solid feel, good fit and finish, and lively tone through a tube amp, with some arrivals playing well right out of the box and even showing perfect action and intonation. The main caveat is quality control, with reports of sharp or sprouted fret ends, marks, and occasional shipping damage or repacked units. A promising value if you want the Les Paul look and sound without paying much more.
Common Questions (4)
It can arrive playing very well right out of the box, with action and intonation described as perfect. Some units may still need minor fret-end filing or dressing, but the factory setup can be excellent.
Some guitars have sharp or sprouted fret ends that may need filing or dressing, while others arrive with fine frets. The finish is also reported to look better in person than in photos and is less of a fingerprint magnet than gloss.
At $299, it is described as a strong deal for a solid Les Paul-style guitar, with some saying it feels like a steal and would still be worth more. The gold top is also said to look better in person than in the photos.
Yes, the price can be corrected by customer service or chat, and an invoice can be sent at the sale price. One checkout example showed $299 subtotal pricing with free shipping and a total of $322.92 after tax.

1-inch crack in the body and binding separation. Since it was repacked in the store, I have my concerns.
The customer service was horrible and the resolution offered was laughably inadequate. I asked for a replacement (even open box one would have worked) but the only options were a 10% refund or shop another place. I kinda understand now how these two retailers get their reputation. When everything goes smoothly, they're fine. When there's a problem - this is why people shop elsewhere.
Pretty good deal for those who got it, though. Thanks OP.
