Community Reviews

This is a compact Wiha impact driver bit set that stands out for its solid feel, quality bits, and handy size for tight spots or a range bag. The metal case is compact, and the ratchet feels good in hand while the bits are described as top quality. It is less versatile than Harbor Freight Icon kits, lacking features like a flex head, pass through head, and T handle conversion, and the deal also had shipping and cancellation issues for some orders. A nice small set if you want Wiha quality in a simple package.

  • The bit ratchets can help in tight spots where standard drivers struggle.

  • The set can be convenient to keep in a shooting range bag for quick fixes.

  • The bits are described as top quality and the ratchet feels good in-hand.

  • The kit ships in a compact metal case and the components do not feel cheap.

  • The set lacks flex head and pass-through head features found on some competing mini sets.

  • Lowe's shipping may not be free for a single unit even with My Lowe's Rewards.

  • Lowe's can cancel an order shortly after placement, which disrupts pickup timing.

  • The deal price appears to have expired and the cost reportedly returned to $34.

Looks like a pretty good set to throw into a shooting range bag for last minute fixes
Did this a year ago and it's saved me many times.

What's the difference between this and the standard GoBox #74984 that supposedly also has impact-rated bits? Does this have any disadvantages compared to the standard set?
I have #74984 and nowhere have I read that it is impact rated, but they are pretty tough. That set includes slotted bits. They do not have a 'torsion' zone. The markings are stamped on the side of the hex base. I use them exclusively in hand-tools, and they are very long-wearing.

I also have the blue impact terminator bits in kit #76868. There are no slotted bits in that set. These bits do have a thinned out 'torsion' zone. Unlike many other impact bits, the blue poly is not a shrink-sleeve, but a bonded casing. The markings are etched on the bottom of the bits, presumably because stamping would affect the bonded casing.

This isn't as versatile as the Harbor Freight kit (flexible head, extension, handle can be used as a bit driver...) but it's a quality ratchet and feels really good in the hand. The bits are top quality as well - arguably the best. I've given these Wiha kits as gifts and everyone loves them. It's finally my turn.
It cracks me up that we are comparing Harbor Freight tools to Wiha. You guys know Wiha is tool truck quality, right?

You do realize harbor freight has tool truck quality tools? Especially their icon line.

Wiha and icon are not in the same league. Not even close.... Maybe Knipex, PB Swiss, Wera or even Klein but not Icon....

Thanks for the tip! I have the standard kit, but I guess I'm going back to Lowes πŸ˜‚

Harbor Freight has different lines, and the Icon line is tool truck quality. The Wiha 76000 CentroFix is my absolute favorite bit holder handle by far, but for a compact bit kit, I bought this Wiha and the Icon kit and ended up sending the Wiha back. The Icon can turn into a T-handle, or you can extend the tool longer for more leverage, or you can use the extra piece is an extender to get to something recessed, and even just using it the regular way without the attachment, while the curves on the Wiha are nice, it's a lot shorter and harder to apply torque.

I have the Icon meme tool and the Wiha standard GoBox #74984 (similar to this set), and I agree with your assessment. The Icon kit might not be as "nice" as the Wiha, but it's more versatile. Even the plastic case is more impact-resistant. And the HF warranty is probably easier to exercise if needed.

I have both kits because each has unique merits. Ironically, the GoBox stays in my office while the meme tool goes with me πŸ˜‚

Not sure about the free shipping with My Lowe's Reward membership. It showed $2.99 for shipping for me for a single unit. Fortunately, I wanted 2 and that bumped it to free shipping.

Welp, scratch that. Lowe's canceled my order 14 minutes after I placed it.

You're thinking of Made in Europe Wiha. This is, like most of the Lowes line, Made In Vietnam Wiha. It is certainly made to a price point and the Taiwanese Icon stuff measures up.
