I did this with a roll of ribbon from the Dollar Store. We have since lost the ribbon but bought some cheap aftermarket Roku remotes that work just fine. We also got some different colored remote covers so I have mine, she has hers and a couple extra in case they get misplaced on the couch. We only use the phone app when we go visit the grand children and can't find the remotes there.

These are definitely NOT VOICE remotes.
If you want Voice functions, you have to buy one the specifies it's a "Voice" remote.

OP is for "official" remote.
If you want to go for "unofficial" third party replacement remotes, these are even cheaper still, plus come with protective covers. They work fine for all Roku OS TVs. Personal experience with my TCL.
