I'm middle aged (way older than 22) but am taking a few grad classes and have been paying $8 / month, so this is a small discount.

One caveat that bothers me more and more is that at least half the discounts / coupon codes posted here aren't available for student accounts. I suppose that's good because it keeps me from impulse buying junk I don't need, but it takes some fun out of Slickdealing.
I don't think I'd pay for Prime at $20 / month or whatever the real cost is. Though my shipping is pretty fast here, the customer service at Amazon is atrocious now, a lot of products are still fake , Prime video has ads, and Whole Foods quality seems down while their prices are even more absurd than when I shopped there everyday about 10 years ago.

"Prime for Young Adults"? Where's the 61% off deal for "Prime for Older Adults"? Why is age a thing and how is it not age discrimination being an offer only for adults of a certain age?

Lol. Lots of places offer senior discounts. Can't have it both ways, lol.
This coming from a senior that did get the student discount for 4½ years. Before that, never had Prime, but have had it ever since, about 3 years.

It's not restricted to an edu email. You can get the student discount with a regular email

I'm a senior also, and I don't want it both ways...I want it one way, either offer the discount to everyone or not at all. 18-24 years old is just an age range -- how lucky to be 18-24 and able to get Prime for 61% off! But you're right with Senior discounts, so where is the 61% off deal for us! Smilie

Got two six month young adult trials back-to-back. I literally cancelled right before it renewed and it immediately offered me a new one.

I was never asked my age. had mine for over 4 years.
You missed their point. There are two ways now.

EITHER
1) A student
OR
2) Any 18-24 year old.

The 18-24 year old category pricing has not been available until the recent past- that has not been around for over 4 years. So, of course, you were never asked your age.
