The Mini 4k is essentially a rebadged Mini 2, but with some missing features. It sits somewhere between the Mini 2SE and Mini 2.

The Mini 3 is a better drone across the board, longer flight time, better sensor, etc.

For the specifics on the differences:
1: Flight time (38 min vs. 31 min) - ~22% more flight time
2: Sensor (1/1.3" CMOS vs 1/2.3" CMOS - 48 MP vs 12 MP) - 4x resolution - and Mini 3 includes HDR
3: True Vertical Shooting on the Mini 3
4: Cost ($499 FMC for Mini3 vs. $309 FMC equivalent for Mini 4k with this deal)

You think the cost of the Mini 3 FMC is worth it over the Mini 4K FMC? I wouldn't be using it too much. Just once in a while to look at stuff like top of my roof lol

I'm in the same boat. I am ready to graduate from toy drones. I won't be shooting for profit video.

mini 3 base bundle at 299 is 100% a better deal than this. video and photo quality are noticeably better on the mini3. mini3->mini4 differences on the other hand is not that much.

I thought the same thing. (Should only need 'one' battery...) but the price of extra stuff adds up later too. The 2 extra batteries and the charging hub are very nice. Put all 3 in it, plug it in to charge and leave it be. The prop guard is a small bonus, but the case holds everything together in one place. So, the jump from the $209 to $309 was worth it for me.
