It only works with the iPhone Air; you can technically use it sideways or via USB C but at that point it'll be cheaper to buy a third party one

Apple is the only company that can sell a "oh-so-thin" phone with a meager battery for $1000, then sell a battery pack made just for that phone for an additional $100 (well, $60 now)...and consumers won't think twice about it.

Crazy what Apple charges for their accessories. If you are an Apple fan boy, I guess it's a good deal. If you don't have unlimited money and prefer to get a better value for your hard-earned dollars, go elsewhere.... rant mode *off*

Apple iPhone Air MagSafe Battery has a capacity of 3,149 mAh, definitely not worth $60

Yeah if they made it more practical with battery like the S25 Edge, they wouldn't have been able to sell this overpriced pack separately or be able to market it as the thinnest iPhone ever (even though I think the 6/7 were thinner along the full body). It's a win-win for Apple; have a slimmer phone than the competitor while selling accessories and taking advantage of marketing. Despite the fact that the competitor is more usable day-to-day it is "overshadowed".

Apple shareholders think this is a good idea, people in the apple ecosystem eat this stuff up. I'll take my Apple dividends and continue buying android for my personal use, lol
