This bundle centers on a top-end Ryzen 7 9850X3D paired with an ASUS PRIME RTX 5070 and a Rosewill 850W Gold power supply, making it attractive for a high-performance gaming build. The CPU is praised as the fastest gaming chip, and the 5070 is framed as a strong 1440p card where X3D processors shine. The main concern is balance, since the CPU is seen as overkill for the GPU, especially at 4K. It also leaves out the rest of the build, so motherboard, cooler, RAM, and storage still add a lot to the total.

  • The X3D CPU choice can support future GPU upgrades without forcing an immediate platform change.

  • The bundle can work well for 1080p and 1440p gaming because the RTX 5070 targets those resolutions.

  • The high-end CPU can help preserve performance headroom when upgrading graphics later.

  • The bundle may leave out key build essentials like RAM, a motherboard, and a CPU cooler, which can add substantial extra cost.

  • The CPU and RTX 5070 pairing can be imbalanced because the 9850X3D CPU may be overkill for the GPU.

  • The RTX 5070 may perform poorly at 4K, which can reduce the value of the high-end CPU at that resolution.

  • RAM pricing can exceed the bundle price, making it expensive to complete the system after purchase.

Today's "bundles" make no sense. Generally a generational "upgrade" of a CPU requires a new motherboard and often new ram. They might as well throw in a 12 pack of single ply toilet paper.
Agreed. In today's world, your proc deal needs to come with ram and your motherboard deal needs to come with more ram. Otherwise, ram will kill your entire build every time

The 5070 is a 1440p card and the x3d CPUs shine the most in 1080/1440p gaming. At 4k the cpu matters very little compared to the gpu so I think it's a decent pairing.
then what is a decent pairing to a 5090? the 1 trillionX3D?
the CPU will shine the most at ANY resolution, it is not bound by it.... the 5070 will perform terrible at 4K
this is why it's an imbalanced setup

the CPU and GPU combo is extremely imbalanced, the CPU is overkill compared to the GPU
You're not wrong, but having that cpu means you can go up on gpu without worrying about losing anything later

What? I'm confused? You only removed the ryzen in the second comparison
The title was edited. When I made the suggestion originally it only said AMD 9850X3D. Now I know in the future not to make these suggestions as to not look like a fool ex post.

Lots of people buy a cpu to last several graphics cards. Generally you want to account for that on initial build
