The Acer Veriton GN100 is a compact Nvidia AI workstation aimed at local model work, with 128GB of LPDDR5x, 4TB of storage, and Nvidia DGX OS for broad compatibility. The hardware is described as strong enough for large local LLMs, long context windows, on prem PHI handling, and even model training. The installed SSD is reported as a Samsung PM9E1 Gen5 drive with very fast measured reads and writes. The main cautions are the premium price, occasional price mismatch at checkout, and concern about the sealed design if the SSD ever fails, though teardown notes suggest the bottom panel is removable.
The Nvidia DGX OS on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS can support workstation-style AI development workflows out of the box.
The system can run very large local LLMs with large context windows while keeping PHI on-prem in a HIPAA environment.
The internal layout appears straightforward for cooling and storage access after removing the perimeter screws.
The included 4TB SSD configuration can improve practical storage capacity for serious AI development work.
The deal price can require logging into a CDW account, which can make the checkout total harder to verify upfront.
The SSD may be a Samsung PM9E1 gen5 drive even though the listing advertises a gen4 drive.
Frequent Nvidia Ubuntu updates can require update reboots, which can disrupt long-running development sessions.
If the SSD fails in a sealed-box design, replacement may be difficult and could render the unit unusable.

You can say "intelligence" as many times as you want, it still doesn't make these systems intelligent in any sense of the word.

I love these for stability & serious AI development work. If this is like the other Grace Blackwells I have, It won't run the regular Ubuntu, but rather the Nvidia Ubuntu, and frequent updates and update reboots are to be expected.
Ohhh... I nearly pulled the trigger on this, but Gemini is saying that this is a completely sealed box. If & when the SSD dies it's toast.
