And I'm not fancy, loved Spirit (RIP).
1) if the online check-in process has an error and you don't have a boarding pass on your phone you need to arrive earlier than normal. They seem to have generally gotten better at this process (including international flights which was their major downfall).
2) *NEVER* try to check a bag with frontier. Their understaffed bag check lines cost me a missed flight (after arriving 2.5 hours before the flight) and repurchasing 3-one way tickets on another airline to make it to an event on time and erased any savings I would have gotten from flying frontier for the rest of the year.
I only use frontier under the conditions above, and if it's super low risk if I end up delayed 1 day, and it's 30-40%+ less than a major airline AFTER factoring in bags and seats. (So I don't fly frontier too often these days...)
