Good thing the end was left for ones own interpretation. I guess you didn't get it

Not the OG dub but the Netflix version. Still really good voice acting though. If you like to watch Japanese language with subs..not an issue. Also looks amazing on Blu-ray!

Watched it recently after watching it fragmented over the years. Holds up well compared to anime of today.

Too bad the ending was trash and all the subsequent movies
Agreed, I loved the series back in the day but the ending and two movies kinda killed it for me. Fortunately all the remake movies were really good.

Only real downside to this version is that they didn't want to pay for the rights to Fly Me to the Moon. Several scenes using an instrumental version of it as BGM are now lacking BGM. Taking away the song from episode 19 really sucks.

Great series I've watched many times!
As another user noted it is missing all the "Fly me to the moon" song variations, the original show has a unique one at the end of every episode. I've watched the entire Netflix version and it's fine, but there are some awkward scenes bc of the BGM removals. I recommend the Sephirotic copy over this if you get what I'm saying.
If you haven't seen this series before, ignore all the "watch order" arguments and just watch the show into End of Evangelion.

What watch order arguments?
I don't think I've ever seen anything apart from watch ep 1-26 then End of Evangelion.

There were some changes to episodes 21-24. " These versions are often marked with a prime symbol (21', 22', 23', 24'). The Netflix release and most modern Blu-ray releases use these versions by default."

Thanks for pointing this out. Was about to pull the trigger, but lack of Fly Me to the Moon is a deal breaker
