Lithium-Ion (standard), XR (extended runtime), POWERSTACK (compact pouch cell), and POWERPACK (high-output tabless).
They all are lithium ion!!! Don't buy the hype!
Get a smoking deal, buy it. Don't over pay for some gimmick.

The high performance batteries may not make a noticeable difference on a low power tool, like a light or a DIY budget drill, but they must definitely make a substantial difference on high demand tools, like angle grinders and circular saws.
Powerpack and powerstack are currently being relabled XR, so there will only be old style legacy batteries and XR high performance batteries very soon.
