This 10th generation iPad stands out as a strong low price tablet with 256 gigabytes of storage, an A14 chip, and enough speed for everyday use, games, photos, document uploads, and family or kid duties. It is described as snappy in daily use and a step up from the 9th generation, with the larger storage making it far more flexible than the base model. The main drawback is longevity, since it is already partway through Apple support life and lacks Apple Intelligence. The non laminated screen is the other notable compromise, making it a practical short term or basic use pick.

  • The 256GB storage option at $150 provides a meaningful upgrade over 64GB models for documents and general use.

    ctujackbauer

  • The 10th-gen iPad can feel snappy in daily use for browsing, photos, and routine tasks.

    Evan55

  • The A14 chip configuration supports a strong baseline performance compared with A12-based iPads still considered current.

    sarlo100

  • The iPad can work well as a backup device for communication, YouTube browsing, and photo viewing.

    JimJimBinks

  • The main risk is that Apple may stop security updates after the iPad reaches end-of-life, which can arrive sooner than expected.

    ctujackbauer

  • The non-laminated screen is a recurring complaint, and the newer model is described as having the same issue.

    Evan55

  • Apple Intelligence support is not available on this model due to system-on-chip and RAM constraints.

    Vic121

  • Clearance pricing may be inconsistent, since an in-store pickup unit reportedly rang up at $499 instead of the expected clearance amount.

I personally wouldn't buy it, but it's priced accordingly. It's halfway through the Apple lifecycle. It's fine for the majority of usage but as someone who values longevity, I'd rather go with the current gen if I were in the market.
So I can get another iPad that's better for $150?

Do you get off on the snark? Good luck finding this in stock anywhere, these were phased off years ago.

What's the website for Dell?

What's the website for Google?

What's the website for BrickSeek?

Why would it matter? It's no longer free, basically useless unless you pay or have access to someone's account.

I couldn't find it in any nearby store.
It's such an old model that none of the stores near me carry it.

Is it even worth it? It's 4 years old
Depends on what you use it for, very much worth it for me to get as a backup for my nonverbal daughter who uses an ipad to speak, browse youtube, and look at photos.

Maybe not bad to mount on the wall as a family calendar. Certainly would perform better than echo show or some of the other stuff out there. Heck, there are smart picture frames that cost more than this...

I use one of these every day, its snappy and works great. Only complaint is the non-laminated screen and the new one is the same anyway.
