These Member's Mark tablets are made of Trichloro-s-triazinetrione (commonly called "trichlor"), which is a stabilized form of chlorine. Because they are stabilized, they are roughly 50- 55% cyanuric acid by weight.

Using these will raise your waters CYA levels whereas using liquid chlorine doesn't.

This. And there is no reliable, proven way to quickly lower your cya levels in your pool besides partial drain(s). It decreases over time with evaporation and filtration, but it takes many, many years. Possibly a decade if it's too high.

I have a 40lb bucket of tablets I bought pre-covid and I still have about a 1/4 of it left. Tablets like these should be used very sparingly.

Not knowing what size pool or if it is seasonal or year round I would add that while cyanuric acid can be a problem, living in Florida and maintaining my in-ground pool for decades it has only been an issue maybe twice in all thise years. I use the trichlor tabs and compliment them by shocking weekly with liquid chlorine or granular shock. Should cyanuric acid become a problem replacing a small amount of the pools water is a small price to pay versus the cost of other problems that can arise from using straight liquid chlorine, which is not stabilized.
The topic gets further complicated by the sky high costs if tablets in recent years which the industry claims was the result of a manufacturing plant fire and the increased demand because during the pandemic many people added pools to their home as a way to keep families entertained during the lock downs. Thankfully prices have finally been coming back down.
Personally, I find it easier and cheaper to use the tablets along with regularly shocking with liquid or granular shock than the hassle of dealing with buying and storing all the other chemicals needed when not using them.
Keep in mind you can always use and alternative such as calcium hypochlorite or a saltwater system, but that is a whole different topic.
Best of luck.....

Liquid chlorine will have no residue after a few days, and this stuff will leave behind residue, not the good kind. Get the liquid chlorine
