Didn't see this posted, and saw that a big brand like Lenovo is actually going into this space for selling handheld emulation game consoles. Looks interesting, not sure if its better than the multitude of other handhelds in this space already, like the very similar Anbernic RG40XXV. I wonder what the build quality and support/warranty differences are since its coming from a known large brand.

Looks legit, here is the official Lenovo site talking about it and looks to have a knowledge base page for it as well:

New Hands-On Video review: (thanks to tannersarms)

A good number of Aliexpress sellers taking pre-orders for this (arriving May 16), starting around ~$63 from what I have seen:
Shipping is free | Free 90-Day returns

Lenovo G02 Handheld Game Console - Specifications:
  • 4.5" 1024x768 IPS display (4:3 aspect ratio)
  • Rockchip RK3326 processor/SoC (emulates up to PS1, N64, Nintendo DS, and maybe PSP, Dreamcast)
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB on-board storage and micro SD card slot available (up to 1TB)
  • 2x USB Type C ports
  • RGB lighting joystick | 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Single speaker (front-facing)
  • 4000 mAh battery
  • Linux-based operating system
  • Size (dimensions): 150mm x 99mm x 34mm
  • Weight: 258g

Looks interesting enough, I already own a Miyoo and a Anbernic, might pick one up to check it out.

Lenovo are getting in on the low end of the gaming handheld market? This can't be legit. No reviews from the usual YouTubers, and they certainly wouldn't release a device called the G02 while also having an $1,100 device called the Legion Go 2.

i thought the same thing, but the Lenovo official website does mention it and have a place holder for it:

I guess we'll see soon enough, but there seems to be a lot of skepticism over on SBCGaming on reddit, and commentary that the chipset being used is normally found in $30 handhelds.

Rk3326 chip playing dreamcast or psp well? Not likely.

Save your money and don't get this one. Plenty of h700 chip anbernics at this price range that might get you a bit better performance imo

Nice find on the video review. Looks legit and quality looks up to Anbernic's. But I would like to see official support from Lenovo (especially for people buying this outside of China).

It seems very intriguing to me still, if this was on sale for $40, it's an easy impulse buy for me, just to tinker with a Lenovo licensed retro game system

Seems the 3rd party contractor that makes lenovo branded controllers decided to make this handheld without really getting official authorization to put labels on this one. Or am I understanding the situation incorrectly?

the creator of the video (after a number of minutes of talking about his investigation) did say that there is a page for the device on Lenovo's official knowledge base site, which gives credibility that it is most likely a licensed product being tested and sold in the China market

I didn't so much find it as YouTube served it to me, just as AliExpress has put it front and center any time I open one of their apps. They're watching us, I tell ya.

I posted the link and then watched the video. Guy seemed impressed with build quality. I'm still not convinced on the naming convention making any sense.
Unfortunately it seems like AliExpress are nerfing all of their best promos currently (they killed the $4 monthly Saver Coupon, no more Savings Monday/Wednesday and the shopping credits you used to be able to claim from playing their games are gone in a second, assuming you even find it worthwhile try and claim them at 12/1/2/3am depending on your time zone). I got a $153 RP5 last week with the PayPal $15 promo, but don't see myself making a handheld purchase for a while now.

Yeah, to my friend in a sales tax free state. The grey/SNES colorway has been significantly discounted the last couple sales combined with the paypal promo. Unfortunately there was also a sales tax glitch that was almost tripling my already high tax location rate, so that put me off ordering previously. crownpuffdeals on reddit is your place for the absolute best deals on handhelds.

It's Aliexpress, so you're probably right. Lmao

I see this all the time. How do you use a massive company name and not get sued?
Probably bot advertising and tons of company names they cane dissolve

Looking at that URL... wouldn't it just be lenovo.cn instead of lenovo.com.cn? Seems like one of those bogus phishing domains that wiggles around the normal format to get as close to legit as they can get.
