The Galaxy Watch 7 40mm is a compact smartwatch that covers the usual Samsung health and fitness features at a lower price than the Watch 8. It is praised for accurate ECG, blood pressure, sleep, and workout tracking, along with solid build quality and fast charging. The main drawback is battery life, which often means daily charging and can feel tight on the smaller 40mm model. This Bluetooth and Wi Fi version also needs a phone nearby, and some health features do not work with non Samsung phones, making it a practical pick if you can live with the charging routine.

Common Questions (3)

  • Yes. The 40mm model is repeatedly described as needing daily charging, especially with most features turned on, though it charges quickly and usually only takes about 30 minutes. The smaller battery is the main reason the 40mm version is less convenient than the 44mm or LTE variants.

  • This deal is for the Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi model, so it needs a phone nearby to work fully. The LTE version can work more independently and can answer calls without the phone, but it requires a separate cellular plan.

  • No. ECG, Sleep Monitor, and Blood Pressure are reported to be blocked when the watch is paired with a non-Samsung phone, and the old workaround has been broken again since Wear OS 7.

Got a Watch 5 pro on ebay, for $60 bucks a few months back. Much nicer watch than the budget watch 7. Right now $50 bucks.

Keep in mind that ECG, Sleep Monitor, and Blood Pressure DO NOT WORK if you try using this with a non-Samsung Phone, as they are intentionally crippled so Samsung can boost their ecosystem numbers.

Someone on XDA used to release custom software to bypass the block, but it has been crippled again since Wear OS 7.
