I use them in the safe, and keeping filament, and guns and ammo dry.
A common complaint for this model is that the beads stop changing color after awhile.
Someone took it apart and noticed that the beads in the window, that show the color change, had become burnt which is why they stopped changing color. The beads within the unit were dry after recharging but you couldn't tell because the ones in the window lost their ability to change color. The unit had done it's job and dried out the beads after recharging but you couldn't tell. He just replaced the beads in the window with beads from within the body, which were dry, and then the unit indicated when the beads were dry again.
What likely happens is that the beads in the window get too hot from one long heating cycle. A possible fix is to dry the beads in stages, that is, plug the unit in for half the time then let the unit cool down for awhile, say an hour or so then plug it in for the rest of the heating cycle. Bothersome, yes, but not too much if a timer is used.
Community Reviews
The Eva-Dry Wireless Mini Dehumidifier is a compact rechargeable desiccant unit that works best in small sealed spaces like gun safes, cabinets, storage bins, and car interiors. It helps keep documents, filament, ammo, and glasses dry, and can prevent fogging or musty odors when the space is tight enough. Performance drops in rooms, closets, vans, or other larger or leakier spaces, where frequent recharging is needed. The indicator beads can also stop changing color after long use or overheating, so it is a small-space moisture fix with some maintenance.
Common Questions (3)
It works best in small enclosed spaces like safes, sealed bins, gun cabinets, and gasketed storage boxes. It will not meaningfully dry a room or even a typical closet, and larger or less-sealed spaces can overwhelm its capacity quickly.
Recharge frequency depends on the space: some use it in gun cabinets only once or twice a year, while cars may need monthly recharging and summer dish cabinets about every two weeks. If the space is wetter or less sealed, it can need much more frequent recharging.
The color-change indicator can fail after about 1-2 years or stop changing because the window beads get burnt from overheating. The unit may still be drying internally, but the indicator no longer shows it; swapping in fresh window beads or using shorter recharge cycles can help.

I have a couple. The older ones I got was like 10 -15 yo. It's in my closet and the indicator never turn green. Might have a few times years ago not not recent years. I keep recharging and using this.
I keep one in a zip lock and toss my phone in there when its raining.
It will not suck up moisture in a large room. It will but it does not have the capacity for large amounts of moisture without a recharge. Small enclosed spaces work best.
