Community Reviews
This 16 inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro is being framed as a strong refurb buy for a big screen, fast everyday performance, and excellent media quality. The mini LED display, loud speakers, MagSafe, and three Thunderbolt 4 USB C ports stand out, and it still handles creative work, development, video editing, and heavy multitasking well. The main cautions are weight, since it is a chunky laptop, and refurb condition, with battery health and cosmetic wear varying by unit. Long term macOS support and the soldered storage also matter, so it feels best for buyers who value power and screen quality over portability.
The refurb units can arrive with high battery health and low cycle counts for daily use.
The mini-LED 1600-nit HDR display and top-tier laptop speakers make media watching feel premium.
The laptop can handle demanding workflows like video editing, VFX, development, and Mac gaming.
The M1 Pro performance can stay strong for everyday multitasking like Docker containers and many browser tabs.
The battery cycle count and battery health can be a major downside on refurbished units.
Refurb condition can vary, including reports of major dents, bent screens, and blown speakers.
The laptop can be extremely heavy and uncomfortable for frequent travel or lap use.
The soldered RAM and soldered SSD prevent upgrades after purchase.

Though idk why they need a Mac. Are these teens or college kids...I thought a lot of schools used Chromebooks.
For most people, the 16-inch model is not ideal for frequent travel. The 13- to 14-inch models are just perfect for portability. MacBooks also tend to last longer than most Windows laptops out there. Something that Windows laptops can never beat, the battery life.
