Bummer they recently closed my local Staples. I was hoping Amazon Returns would keep the business alive a little longer. They use to let me print out forms for free sometimes

Wow. First party switch games rarely get discounted. Nintendo must be having a rough time
This deal has nothing to do with Nintendo and everything to do with Staples. That said, Nintendo is going through something at least since they are increasing hardware prices.

This is probably the sentiment that's been going about online about stores having a lot of stock nobody wants. The 70-80 dollar price point is too much for rehashed games. Costco recently sold Metroid and Pokémon za for 29.99 just to get rid of them.
I think they realize how popular the donkey Kong deal is and set it to be out of stock online. I went to two staples today just to look I bought it at the first and second one still had some. Also fun fact for the other games if you have urlhasbeenblocked it's 15% cash back on top of the discounted price.

Loving these deals from Nintendo lately. Really makes some of the complainers seem ridiculous
No need to defend corporate greed. It's been at least a decade and a half of vastly inflated prices for Nintendo first party titles and company grandstanding at the Switch 2 launch of how their premium product is worthy of a higher MSRP. They may have bitten off more than they can chew, and consumers are fed up. Lucky for them they have the brand tie-in with Universal Studios and their movies helping them in part with marketing, but they need to tread carefully having alienated more budget-conscious gamers in a dwindling console gaming market. They really should bring back their Nintendo Selects lines to sell discounted titles after the initial sales run rather than resorting to Woot and individual retailer sales when stores sit on dead stock that isn't moving.
