This refurbished Roomba Combo i5 plus is a self emptying vacuum and mop that can handle everyday cleaning, especially if you want the Roomba app and mapping features. The i7 plus and i6 models are described as lasting for years with routine battery, filter, and brush upkeep, and the i5 plus can work well again after a battery replacement. The main drawbacks are recurring app and mapping glitches, slow cleaning, and reliability concerns ranging from wheel motor failures to base melting. The mop attachment also gets called weak, more like dragging a rag than real mopping, so it is a practical floor cleaner with clear limits.
The mapping speed can feel faster than earlier spinning-mop robot experiences.
Replacing the battery can restore performance when the unit initially underperformed.
Long-term refurb ownership can involve only routine battery and maintenance work.
An older Roomba i7+ can keep running with near-daily use and still deliver decent cleaning.
Mapping and app functionality can receive bad reviews, including app confusion.
The self-emptying base can melt, and the unit can become out of warranty after another melt.
Wheel motor issues can prevent proper charging, with the robot failing to lift onto the base.
The mop system can underperform by merely dragging a rag across the floor.
