no, This has been an amazing purchase for me, i have the ET-4750 bought 7-8yrs ago. i use it an average amout for remote worker. I have bought only 1 refill kit , the refills are huge, the tanks are relatively huge , i just make sure to do the maintenace mode to keep the print heads clean. The best printer by a mile for the long term costs

If one color goes out do you need to replace all of them
Like the old printers? Anyone know?

Yes, I can't remember the last Epson that would do Black Only mode when color runs out. Yet another reason to go with EcoTank. Visual indicator with plenty of time to order cheap ink.

I usually buy lasers, because they need zero maintenance - if I printed last yesterday or a decade ago, it doesn't matter - the next printout will be perfect.
Back in the 2010s (ie my last inkjet), I remember that I had to print weekly from the printer, else the heads would be clogged and output looked terrible.
What is the maintenance that you speak of? Is that basically printing something (using all colors) weekly so that the heads don't clog?

Yep, the once a week to print something in color (not even a full page) is the only maintenance I do. Sometimes I'll wait several weeks to make a print, and it's been fine. These ecotanks are much better than the old ink jets.

Thanks. I'll stick with lasers. A quick look in Reddit shows this is still a major problem for inkjets and super tanks / eco tanks.
Before you buy, ask yourself if the hassle of replacing cartridges next time you need to print something is worth whatever you're saving buying this. Laser printers have been the no-BS option for a decade.
Parents had an inkjet at their house for years, and I'd get a call about it not working every 9-12 months. Got them some Brother something or other 2 years ago and haven't heard a peep aout it since the day it was installed.

Meaning you got them a Brother laser, yes?
I completely agree. Every time I've used inkjets, the printhead is clogged or something is wrong, unless one uses it constantly.
Used to have a inkjet (probably Epson) which got clogged all the time. Now I have a canon imageCLASS laser printer from long time ago. It just would not break. Off brand toner is also very cheap.

One suggestion - use AI to write a script that runs once a week / once very other week to print a test page... When you look at costs including toner - you still end up way ahead when including the costs of the test pages.
