Sweet, I just missed the deal the other day. I bought my ego stuff 8 years ago and my batteries are starting to get fatigued. Hopefully these 2 keep me going for another 8 years! Thanks!
I will try to buy this at store and return the battery, will report back if that works. When you look on their webpage for this product for online order, they explicitly say you have to return everything together to get your money back, so I think it only works at the store.
If you want to return the battery, you can't use the link of this thread. This link gives you the combo deal and explicitly says : "All pieces purchased as part of this set must be included in returns.".
In order to be able to return the battery (or the blower) you have to go to the deal where you buy the blower and get a free battery. This deal is $329 though.
Strange thing here is that online the blower is itemized for $252 and in store today I had it itemized for $205. I was able to return the battery and get the blower for $205. I also get $50 from my utility company back which will make this deal extra sweet.
Bottom line:
If you want both, buy this combo deal. If you want to keep the battery buy the blower get battery for free deal for $329 online and return the blower. And if you want the cheap blower, get the $329 deal in store and return the battery.
None of above is guaranteed so try and see if it works for you! Good luck!
PS: I just charged the battery and started using it. I have to say, I am not particularly impressed. First of all, it is super heavy secondly the charger has a fan and pretty loud when charging. I also don't like the build quality. The battery is not seating snug and has a play and the blowing power is pretty average. I had a cheap blower from Walmart with a 4ah battery which was much lighter, much better built and had the same blowing power and I paid just 90 bucks for it. I really don't get the hype around this blower. I don't want to return it but it is definitely not worth all the hype and the money. Just my 2 cents.

So how do you keep the 5amp battery with blower? And how much do you end up getting?

Don't understand your question. We are talking about the blower which includes the battery plus an extra battery. When you return the extra battery you can keep the blower with the included battery. I ended up paying $205 for that.
